13b turbo apex seal question

Lightbulb 13b turbo apex seal question

If i need to replace the apex seas on the front do i need to do both sides and all of the corner, side,and oil seals? Do i even need to do them on the front with the bad apex seals?...

Obviously id i see there in bad condition id replace them but do i need to if there not?

You need some precision measuring devices and have to see if the seals are in spec (per the factory manual). If they are in spec, you can reuse them. Usually most side, corner, and oil seals can be reused. However, the general consensus is always use new apex seals.

K just so i can understand...

I can tear down the front only, replace the apex seals and springs, replace all the paper gaskets and nothing else right? (granted i don't find any thing cracked)

no, to get to the front you have to pull the WHOLE motor apart, at that point you HAVE to replace all the soft seals in the engine and it is RECOMMENDED that you replace ALL the apex seals anyways if they have significant mileage on them(over 10k miles).

if for some reason you find that to be too much, sell the car/motor because if you're going to be cheap to the point of only focusing on half your motor, it won't last.
