13b swap... have spark.. no fuel (a bit long but I really need to get my 7 up NOW)
Ok here is my situation:
I'm swaping a 13b NA from an 86 FC into my car. I've pretty much got everything hooked up and I'm trying to start this bitch up.
Suprisingly I've got spark! (didn't think I'd get that part right) I have no fuel. I've used starting fluid and it begins to start, so I know that I have a fuel problem.
I try to get the engine to fire up but nothing. Just barley a puff of smoke come out the exahust. No fuel smell in the tailpipe, the plugs also have no fuel on them. Flooding is not my problem. A few time I"ve let the pump sit and churn for a bit and then turned the key and it just barely made what sounded like a sputter.. only for a tiny bit... fraction of a sec. Then nothing.
The fuel pump is for an FC/FD I bought it brand new from napa, it's a carter pump. I'm not sure if I'm getting enough fuel pressure? I don't have a guage so I can't check but the pump is brand new!
What I think is the most likely problem is the wiring for the fuel injection. I'm not sure if they're working, obviously not
I've got proper voltage for 3 of 4 injector. The rear primary isn't giving a good reading... I think it's supposed to be 12V. I'm checking voltage at the ECU plug, the four greenish wires on the smallest connector, and at the secondary injectors. I haven't taken it apart to get to the primaries quite yet.
Well I'm a little baffled? I'd figure that the engine would at least try to start if one of the primaries was shooting fuel.
Please someone... I need to get this done like this week! Any advice will be much much appreciated. I'm moving to SF reall soon and want my 7 well I'm at college!
Thanks!

Make sure the fuel lines are hooked up right. The pressure line should go to the front pipe and the return to the rear pipe.
Or put another way, the hose from the fuel filter should go to the front pipe and the return line to the rear pipe.
All four injector wires at the ECU small plug should read battery voltage with the key to on.
What year car are you putting this in??????

I'm putting this in a 79 SA.
I've checked the fuel lines they are properly arranged.
One of the four injectors was not reading voltage properly, the rear primary to be exact. I think this could be because it's not fully plugged in properly or maybe the wires had worn off the plastic cover and I didnt' notice. One of the secondaries had this problem and I repaired it.
I have a strong feeling that it's wiring.. but Its strange that I'm getting no fuel.
Could fuel pressure cause this?

Ok since I know tht one of the injectors is not recieving voltage when checked at the ECU plug... could this be because it's shorted out or unplugged?
Would my best bet be to remove the primary fuel rail and then turn the engine ove to see if the injectors are firing?

I don't know for sure (called a disclaimer), that J-spec engines fuel piping is different than the american version. So maybe the rear pipe on the engine is the one that feeds fuel and the front is the return??????
I'd say that plug wire is not shorted. IF shorted it would spew fuel out the injector all the time the key is to ON. Fuel injectors work by having a ground pulsed to them from the ECU to open and shut them. But you knew that.
Remember, I said *I don't know for sure* about the statement concerning the fuel rail/pipes.
Fix the injector wiring first, set the timing second, start the car.

Is there anything seeming useless that need to have power, like the 1L pin for the Clutch switch?
Hailers: I've got some of the jpg you had posted a while back helping someone else, they're the scans of wiring diagrams. I was wondring if all the paths marked with color are the needed paths? If you know which JPg's I'm talking about?

You did prime the system (at little yellow harness on right side by strut tower)? Other than that, like hailers said I had a prob one time with reversing the high/low pressure fuel lines. Switchin em might be worth a shot.
