13b 87 no spin

It was running then, the starter started making sounds and now it doesn't even turn over by hand.. Checked the front cover the torringtion bearings are still good, but t won't turn over, I'm getting very discouraged with this now.

Car fired up, the timing has been a little bit off but we where moving it 10 feet to set the timing once and for all, she fired right up, and ran fine started to move then vroom, just quit (the idle screw isnt set 100% or tuned) so i tryed to start it right back up, starter starts making some noises like its not grounded properly, we reground it still nothing, try rotating the main pull.... nope.... put a 19mm socket on it... nope. just tightend the bolt a 1/8 of a turn and thats that. pulled off the front cover, everything looks awesome *****, no shaved bearings no rub marks nothing... so i have no idea whats wrong.

Can you tell if the starter gear is disengaged? This may sound nubish but the car was in neutral right?

not to assume the worst, but it isn't sounding good, possibly carbon lock, or a seal has broken/let loose and jammed the motor up.

will it rotate backwards even?

So turned out to be the front stationary gear bearing that failed... Who motor is dissadembled, original from 87.. Still no signes of wear on anything everything is neat and tidy..
