If the idle is a bit or alot bouncy you will need to readjust your TPS. If it just idles high while cold that is normal but when you reach 1/4 or 1/3 guage "normal operating temp" it should go back down to700-800. If even when at normal temps it idles high and not bouncy you Have a vac leak somewhere or need to adjust it with the idle screw. I beleive the BAC can also cause idle issues but I am not to aware of how going about fixing it sorry. Again that idle is not normal.

The cold start cam and thermowax are probably stuck or sticking.

I seem to have the same problem. When the engine is hot and I push down the fast idle cam, the rpm slows to normal.

Also there is a hole in the bottom of the thermowax plunger that the end of the adjusting screw goes into. Should the screw go into that hole, or just rest on the end of the plunger? Are these things fixable or strictly replacement?
