10th AE Owners: Key cuts...
Does this cut look anything like your key's cut?
Back in January when I bought my second AE, I went to go make copies of the key but accidentally copied the key from my first AE. I soon noticed that the keys were switched but then I noticed that they had the exact same cut. I tried them out and found I could turn the ignition and doors in either car with either key. I'm curious to know if this was just some odd coincidence or if other AE's shared the same key cut. BTW, the key that I have for my car is not the 10th Anniversary gold key, but it has a black plastic circle head that says MAZDA similar to other FC's. Weird...

Hah, yeah if you can drive the car away with the broken apex seals then you deserve it.

One of the joys of having an AE is that it's one of the rarest FC's out there and it's cool to show off to other RX-7 owners and people. You can't do much showing off if yours is stolen because someone will notice it especially if they're missing theirs. Of course someone could take it for parts but that'd be just mean.
Not like ya would Node, but I'm just making a point.

Well since the Key subject was brought up i have a question.
Is there any way to get the original key and have it cut. The key with the rotor on it?
Now that being asked..i'll try to nswer i myself because i have a feeling. I bet the answer is no you cant get one. Reason i say that is because u cant get nohing 10th anniversary anymore.
well, sorry for the negatism..just have a hunch after being around rx7 for so long.

Former Moderator. RIP Icemark.
Mazda only has 10,000 different key cuts codes, so the odds on that means that there are 14 other FCs that have or had the same key cut as you.
