10th AE good deal?

I found a nice car for sale but i need advice.

Its a 10th AE with 201K km on the car. It is owned by a mechanic, he is putting a new engine in the car.

The car has tokicko adj suspension, RB full exhaust, X drilled rotors, ugraded injectors, centreforce stage 3 clutch, j spec ecu and intake.

It costs $6000 CDN which is fairly good i think for the condition (turbo spins freely, rebuilt and upgraded) and mods but theres a problem.

The mechanic says he ran 22 psi of boost on the car with almost stock turbo and bov. He has an autometer gauge. How is this possible, i think it isnt but he seems like he knows what hes doing. The car doesnt have an fcd, but maybe j spec has no cut? I dont know what to think, what about you guys?

Just because he SAYS he a mechanic doesn't mean anything.
do some hunting. does the car idle well? Is it free of rust, dents, scrapes etc? If it looks good, runs well and has a new engine I think 6k Canadian is a pretty FAIR deal; not great considering the mileage. Keep in mind, owning a 10thAE is great but maybe you could find a better '7 out there for six thousand dollars. Any additional info on the car?

The guy owns a shop and knows rx-7's pretty well. Haven't ran the car yet as engine isnt installed yet. The car needs paint in 2 small places, no rust. From the prices i've seen around here, its a fairly good price along the low end in TII prices.

yea i think it is BS.
I'll wait and see how the car runs and what boost it hits when the engine is in. He'll probably invent something like " the boost is down cause i wants the engine to last cause im selling it". What boost should the car see with a RB turbo back exhaust and open element filter? Whats safe max on stock turbo?
