1 out of 4 Not Good Enough

Okay so i just got done with trying to fix my oil leak on my front cover and well i ran into another problem after reassembly. I put a timing light on it and im only pulling spark off of the L2 wire, i switched wires, switched CAS, I also timed the CAS. But to no avail no spark out of the others. Im pretty stumped on this one, what should i check?

If L2 sparks, then so must L1. They are two sides of the same coil.

Don't assume that because your timing light doesn't work, you are lacking spark. Many timing lights seem to have a problem with the rotary. If you want to check for spark, use a proper spark tester.

Read the Mazdatrix FAQ on the front cover before you kill your engine.

make sure you have the clutch pushed and held in...if its not then you risk dropping your needle bearing...which i hope i didnt but the best way to do it is get an impact gun on it, if that doesnt work than get a bigger impact gun. yeah big bolts, heavy torque, and lock tight does not help removing it

Heck, I had the engine out of the car, installed on a 6' floor brace, and STILL had to jump up & down on a 2 1/2' breaker bar...16 years in there, it didn't wanna come out

If the engine's still in the car, dream up some form of at least a 4' breaker bar (and of course something installed to keep the engine from turning)...and beware the needle bearings, like everyone said...BTW- 19mm OR 3/4 socket will work, 1/2" drive
