1/4 mile times and exhaust

I've just ran my 10th at the track and here's what I got. First run 15.1 @ 97mph with a 2k launch bogging real hard. Second run still bogged with a 2.3 60ft..no tire spin hit a 14.7@98.5. Oddly enough I only have an air filter on the car. Granted it's had an easy life after buying it off the original owner with 20k miles on it. Still, I thought these cars were like 15.6@ 87 or there about. Lastly, has anyone tried the Srx7.com 3" exhaust. I like the fact that it retains the dual exhaust and the price is right at 630.00. I figure I'll do a full 3" and modify the stock manifold to fit a 40mm tial...then we'll see where the 1/4 mile goes from there. Later

I did a 15.0 but that was when my car was completly stripped of any creature comforts

And it was possibly the best run I ever have done in my life, I have to admit that run was beautiful. Downside is I have yet to duplicate it

That is a good run for an NA. What do you have, just high-flow cat, catback, do you have an intake? Still real good run.

I assume that 10th means 10th anniversary TII.

Those times are good for a stock car, what is amazing is your trap speed. You should be running low 14's or high 13's with trap speeds in the high 90's. My first run at the track with my 93 R1 was 13.945@99.54 mph with a passenger, next run alone was slower running around 14.1@98. The friend that rode along with me ran 14.098@98.xx mph in his 88 TII with just an airfilter, 2.5" DP and presilencer, stock cat-back.

I also ran 14.7-14.8's @ 94-95mph in my old TII that was pretty much stock HKS cat-back and K+N drop-in filter.

Lower your rear tire pressure and slip the clutch just slightly on the launch to keep the revs around 4000rpm until the car gets moving, should help your 60' times a lot.

Jeff
87 TII 13.9, sorta stripped, 2560lbs now..
93 R1 13.59

just a K&N filter and exhaust. Mobil 1 oil and a fresh ATF treatment on the engine

My final speed was 83.xx so a good turbo would have been running me down if not beat me.

Yeah it's a 10th ann. And a lot of people..including me, were amazed with the trap speed. I was like huh, wonder were that extra 10mph came from. Maybe a leaf blew infront of the lights :P At any rate it's been really nice turbo weather. I was however, at full weight with 1/2 gas, spare, cooler..etc etc. I'm really looking forward to really modifying it. Later guys.
