1 or 2 MSD boxes for leading only

I'm wondering whether you FC guys need 2 6ALs for leading or if one is alll that is required.

I know that some of you use 3 boxes and I assume that 2 are for trailing since the trailing coils fire at different times.

Could somebody clarify this for me?

Thanks

1 box for the leadings (both outputs fire at the same time)

2 boxes for the trailing (if you have more money than sense).

Thanks.

I'm only using it for leading. Hoping to pick up a little fuel economy and smoother idle with it.

fuel ecomony will not go up unless your plugs are in very sad condition or if you use a gapable plug set for a larger than stock gap.
