06 Mustang rims fitment

ok so i have searched and i couldnt come up with the answer to my main question, i also posted in the wheel/suspension page. here is my questions. and my first post form that thread... i only had one responder and they said give them back....

"Hello,
I have an 88 gxl that is stock. I have been given a set of 06 mustang rims witn a good set of perelli tires.
My questions are as follows:
1. I believe the offset is +45 on the mustang rims, is that correct?
2. they fit on the rear of the car great but the front they rub on the spension spring before i even get any lug nuts in...how big of a spacer should i use on the front?

Thanks in advance for any help"

1. How wide is the wheel? And the offset should be stamped on the inside of the wheel. If not, google it.

2. You can only use a 5mm spacer until you start running out of stud in the front. Any more than that and you'll need studded spacers. Throw some washers on the studs to estimate how much space you need for clearance.

Enter the stock wheel and tire size specs, then enter the mustang wheel and tire size specs.

My guess is since the stock FC wheels have an offset of 38, you're going to need to run at least a 7mm or larger depending on how big the mustang wheel tires are.

If I were you, I'd keep the tires and buy another set of wheels the tires will fit with a lower offset. You're actually going to hurt how the car handles by putting those wheels with a higher offset on. They make the stance of the car more narrow.

ok so i went out and looked at the rims... the stock one is the standard 15x6...couldnt find the offset number or am unsure which number it is....and the mustang rims is the 17x8 same story for the offset...

tires on the stock rim are 205/60, and the stang are 235/55.

i pluged those numbers into the link above with an estimated 38 offset for stock and a 35 for mustang it says the back space is 22mm or .9" more... so if i get a 1'' bolt on spacer should i be ok?

P.S...i dont like the size of the tires but they were free. i figured i would wear them out and get something that matched the overall hight of the stock tire as i am about 10% larger in dia than stock... hurts acceleration a little and my speedo is off a bit not to big o deal tho...im thinking 245/40 on the 17

stock offset is 40.

the mustang wheels might come in different flavors, i had 17x8 mustang wheels with a 28 offset, so they were further out than the Rx7 wheel, it needed some camber to fit under the fender, and i used a 235/35/17 tire (i think, maybe it was a 235/40)

the rear is no problem, as you're noticed
