Question 02 sensor question???

I have a code 17, 02 sensor feedback circuit. I replaced the o2 sensor with a bosch sensor at auto zone for 20 bucks....what i need to know is this o2 sensor has to be spliced. What would happen if i accidently spliced the new o2 sensor with the entire part of the factory wire meaning the shield and the wire???? would that cause a problem??? e.i. rich condition or something???

huh? if you're talking about the heat shield, it is entirely separate of the oxygen sensor. you might have to remove it to access the sensor (I dont remember b/c I took mine off when I got the car).

just take the old one out, cut the wire, and attach the old connector to the new sensor. there's not much you can really screw up here.

Dont bump yourself.
When you buy those 20 dollar ones, you will have to splice it in becuase they dont have they factory harness connector. Go remove the old one, cut the wire/harness off of the old sensor as close to the base as possible. Then splice the old harness to your new sensor, solder it really well for a good conection and tape it up. Now you can connect your new sensor to the main harness with out damaging the main harness at all.
