when my car does the start and die 2 seconds later thing, when i try to keep it idling, the gas pedal wont let me rev it. any thoughts?
yeah, lol, AFM plugged in, checked all VAC lines, i am thinking that maybe the primaries arent firing or something, they may be leaking enough fuel to start the car, but wont fire when i press the gas.

Have you actually checked the plug? Pulled it out then put it back in?
If you suspect the primaries are not firing, listen to them with a stethescope while someone cranks the car. You should hear them clicking. But since it does fire up, they are probably fine.

yeah, i do hear clicking. hmm, seems to flood itself out every time. im going to try and turn down my idle a little bit. it looks like the screw on the throttle body, dynamic chamber is backed ALL the was out. i dont know how that happened, geez.
finally got it started. for longer than 2 seconds, i adjusted the idle screw a bit and it actully started and idles fine for about 3 seconds. i helped it a bit with the gas pedal for about 10 seconds, then slowwwwlllyy it died again....i think we are getiing somewhere. well im done with it for this week. back to school tomorrow, still no drivey drivey.

it does the same thing with the e-manage unhooked. plus without a laptop and the cable, which i am still waiting for, thiers not much to do while the car's not idling. unless someone can point me otherwise
edit: damn sonic, i just noticed your posts have gone up like, exponentially lately, either your helping or making fun of a lot of people

holy crap i think i figured it out. the plug in the back of my e-manage wasnt pushed in all the way, basically this means the air flow meter line was just cut in half, this would definitly give you a shitty, to no, idle. now im curious, would this dump TONS or NO fuel?

There's a lot of noobs in need of smacking.
Your best bet right now is to leave the ECU setup as stock (IE, rewire everything back the way it should be), then to diagnose everything at the ECU (voltages/resistance/etc), and make sure that's all working 100%, THEN, go around and double check for vac leaks/misrouted things/etc, once it's actually running like that, then install the e-manage when you have the ability to adjust it.

Troubleshooting = teh easy
Problem is, people don't seem to use logic when it comes to doing it! The only reason I suggest bypassing the emanage for now, is that you don't have any idea how it's going to react or change things, so you can at least get the car idling and verifying there's no leaks/etc, then play with the emanage.

Trouble shooting = Teh weird.
Hes runnign a custom turbo setup and you would like him to try and run the car without his standalone? Not knocking you Sonic, just saying that the idea of letting the stock ecu have its way with a system that it will not recocgnize is odd to say the least, though I doubt not your skills as a rotorhead.

nah itl still work without the e-manage, which is only a piggyback BTW. itl run pig rich out the ***, but itl start. +SonicRat also has a 6port turbo, and DEFINITLY knows what he is talknig about.

Right. I was just a bit confused though about the emanage itself. But if it runs then all is good and everyone knows what they did and didnt do right. I can only imagine the evil of a 6port turbo though...

Well, my point is that he can diagnose his idle/starting/verify everything is good before he dives into the emanage, which he has no control over at the moment, so who knows what it's doing. I DEFINATLY don't suggest he run with the thing anywhere, *ESPECIALLY* since he's got 460's in his secondaries! Just a way to verify that it'll run, everything's sealed and good, and then he can go back to the emanage once he can see what that's doing to the mix.
yeah im working on getting my 720's to work, but now that i recall, the e-manage was still probably sending the 720's a retarded signal amking the car flood to hell when the e-manage wasn't plugged in right.
well Good luck K-rok. I hope you get the beast running by the weekend at least....I get to do my own forms of rotary fun this weekend, 2 7's and only me as a mechanic all weekend.
