[VID] More on exhaust

Hey gang, I've had some people ask me if I run my car around town the
way it was in the "openexhaust" video. Well, no I don't

I run an N1 catback, and occasionally when I feel like it, or on long
trips I'll use the silencer. Here is a clip comparing all three for
those who are interested.

http://www.cdnwfl.com/~brian/videos/compareexhaust.wmv (10M)

I'm having some detonation problems right now, but once they're
squared away, I'm going to get some good conecam shots looking back on
the N1 while I shoot fire. Stay tuned!

Just checked the server - There's about 45 people downloading it right now, so it's getting a little taxed

I assume that you are running the N1 with a downpipe and a straight pipe.
I wonder how quiet much quieter it would be with the main cat installed.
It doesn't sound like the silencer does too much. What do you think?
Does it still drone at highway speeds with the silencer.

Right. DP/MP then N1. No cats involved
With the cat, it will muffle it quite a bit. A little louder than stock.
The silencer actually helps out a lot. The video was taken in a closed garage, so the sound is echoing off of everything.
On the highway, you'll forget about having a catback on with the silencer in. Nice and quiet on the highway.

phew! my 56K modem finally got it for me cool vid!

do you have a 3" DP or 2.5?

if its 3"...do you have a mid pipe with a 3" flange on one end and a 2.5" flange on the other? (to bolt up to the N1 catback?)

Thanks

It's a Bonez 2.5" downpipe and midpipe. I'm going to hold off on going 3" until I get an upgraded turbo.

http://www.conecam.com

You'll need a camcorder that accepts RCA input, or a VCR with a power inverter.

Once you do get the vid on a tape, what do you use to convert it so you can put it on the net? Thanks

I'm using a Panasonic DV camcorder. I download the raw video with Firewire into Pinnacle Studio 8. You can edit the video and export it to just about any format through Pinnacle.
