Yes that is a copper hammer. I never read anything about it, i was just using it because my deadblow shot hammer is MIA.

Well as for getting my car done by today, NOT happening. the engine that was supposed to be shipped over here fell off the truck or something and broke (nice job R&L) so i'mm getting a refund and am planning on sending my motor to kevin landers now, OR try to save up a little more and buy mazdaspeed7's motor from him.
So it's back to the Bicycle and back to bummin rides. Oh well it COULD always be worse.

Peace,
Matt

Good luck to you. I finished the swap in my '90 vert on Memorial day weekend. It was a pain at times, but the difference is unbelievable and the car is so much more fun to drive.

I had the mounts made by a friend, He took his sweet time doing it. That ticked me off. It was also my first conversion and we did it without any books or transcripts on how it was done. To get the rear gear diff in was the simple part for me. It was just getting the right angle to plop it in to place.

look i own the rx7 that rx7cowboy helped with, it took us 2 hours to pull the exhaust, tranny, flywheel, install the new 5speed flywheel, new 5speed tranny, install clutch master cylinder, slave cylinder and new manifold and throttle body off a 5speed parts car. the adapter plate took us a few days because we actually have to work for a living and didnt have time durring the week to devote to the car. so the adapter plate took about 3 days to have designed and built to my specs. and after the plate was made it took less than an hour for us to put the exhaust system up and drive shaft in. and there is no reason to tear apart the rear diff, its the same as the 5 speed, the turbo has the 4.11 gearing.

so next time u try to hate on someone who trys to help u with assanine comments like... "i'm sure it's harder for some people than it is for others. this kind of stuff is just sorta easy for me to tinker with." rx7cowboy is more mechanicly inclined than u will ever be.
see this is why nobody helps any on here anymore.

No, not exactly. I say want ever works, go with it. When I did the A/T to M/T I changed EVERYTHING. I don't know how you are with your ride, but I am **** about my mine. Just tring to give some helpful (maybe) info.

Did i ever point fingers at anybody in peticular? No. Guy, i'm not out to rip on people on this board whatsoever unless they come lookin for trouble and even then it's a waste of my time. I never said i was the best, fastest or whatever king of rataries there may be but i'm doing allright for myself. that's all i was trying to get at.

Being assinine while stating that phrase would have pointed fingers at people for slow work or just plain outright making fun of them. Lol i was supposed to get my project done by last friday, but as fate turns out the engine that was being shipped here had an incident with the company shipping it and it is no longer in working condition. And i never saw myself "hating on" i'm not a juvenile about working on my car, it is only a car.

And you know what? rx7cowboy could be 30 times the mechanic i am. And if he is congrats on being a stud. But for you stating this... would you care for a cookie? lighten up.

So if there is anybody out there who knows of an engine for sale that runs and is in good condition for less than 1200 bucks gimme a holler. thanx.

So he is claiming to do the 5 speed swap in roughly 3 hours? Must not have done it in the driveway like the rest of us. I don't believe 3 hours. Unless they had a shop and several guys working on it. I single handedly did it in 11 hours in a driveway with barely enough room to slide out the trans. I think they are just trying to compare dicks marlaman so don't sweat it.

Yeah I think if done correctly you probably could do the swap in 3 hours. But then you'd have to be the ultimate duo-team of hailers and Icemark or 2 players of their caliber.

I'm not too worried about "mine is better/badder/bigger than yours" type comments. just when people make personal stuff on here.

I finally resumed some work on the cars tonight and got the rearends back up into place--what a damn waste of time, why didn't anybody tell me before i took them both out that they were both the same?!?!?! LOL it's all good, it's something i overlooked... chalk this one up to expirence.

Well it may take me a while to get a motor for her since i've decided to save up for mazdaspeed7's engine and throw that in(hoping adam doesn't sell it first.), but hopefully with enough overtime and a few odds/end sold i can scrape together enough cash to get it, then i'll have a nice 5 speed Vert with a kickassbuilt engine.

say a prayer or 2 for me--i'll need them to come up with this kind of cash fast.

Peace,
Matt

Hey im sorry you had to find out about the rear gear diffs after you had gutted them but look at it this way, If you ever need to replace your 3rd member mount, You know just how to get the diff down to get the job done. Mike
