Man, thats rough!

I will pray that the system treats you fairly.

And don't just let the insurance company make off with that engine of yours! :O

thanks everyone for the concerns + sympathy....but seriously....think hard about wearing seat belts...its such a small price to pay for the benefits of it.

Dude, glad you got out of it alright, and I think that the forgetting before the impact may have somthing to do with the concussion or you just didn't see the corner and blacked out when you realized it was there.

And I definatley agree with seatbelts, not only do they hold you in place when cornering hard, they DO save lives, I have seen it more then once. I am sure that some of the accident's that I have seen would have ended much more seriously, especially the 40 mph head on that happened right in front of me. Everyone was wearing seatbelts and had air bags, and they definatley did the job like they should.

In other news, the dealership I am dealing with locally is denying the S5 had a seatbelt recall, even with the copy of it in hand, and refuse to do ANY work until they are contacted by Mazda USA's warranty office and it is confirmed. According to their computers, they were maintinenced once before I had the car in '99 and they say that is all I get, just 1 time. I called Mazda USA and they say it is a legit order, but try getting the left hand to know what the right is doing, ya know? Well, sorry to jack your thread, just wanted to get it off my chest, being that it has been a long day without my Rex, and a day of high phone bills at the least. Again, listen to Zero, WEAR YOU BELTS!

damn... insurance loves to total these cars from my experience (a guy ran a red light and T-boned me and fucked my door all up - that was the ONLY damage and I ended up with a salvage title)
But hey, you're alright aren't you? thats what really matters...

Thank God you didn't die........I would've missed all those witty pictures you post.......

Keep on the adjuster, he'll **** you over if given half the chance. My friend put a new engine in his caddy, and they only gave him 300 for the car. He paid 2k for the engine + install. He got ***-raped........Poor guy

kbb said the retail value of the car was like $3,800. the private party was like $2,800. these are not considering the new engine, the s5 tails, the newly installed s5 black interior (everything but the seats was black from a 90 gxl).....and well, i removed everything stereo wise....

he should be calling today, ill keep you guys updated.

alright, just talked to insurance, im gonna get $2655 for the car. they are going to give me some on the engine but not dollar-for-dollar. i can buy back the car for $400-$500.....

im thinking i should......ill have the engine (sp'd with only 3000 miles on it), the s5 tails, the s5 black interior (looked like a good bit was still good).......you guys think i could get my money back out of it?
