what happened?

i really cant remember.....i remember driving down the road, next thing i recall is waking up in the car.

my passenger, cops, assumptions and other witnesses say i went into the curve at 45-55 mph. slid sideways, took out the sign, front of the car hit the ground first, slingshotted me into some trees.

my passenger sustained minor scrapes + one little place on his head.

i got a mild concussion, big knot on my head, nailed my shoulder pretty hard...just the muscles are sore, nothing broken. then im just bruised + cut up. very very very sore all over.

the speed limit on the road was 55mph, i had never driven it before, and there were absolutely no warning signs of the curve. it was after a curve that wasnt quite as sharp. i got charged with wreckless driving, but hopefully we'll get it lowered given the above circumstances. seatbelt burn on my shoulder, passenger said both of us had them on...when asked about drugs + alcohol by the state police, i volunteered to take any tests....they declined. i have never been in trouble with the law, never even been pulled over...so hopefully they'll lower it.......

i did have full coverage, and the insurance adjuster is going to look at the car tommorrow.

For the mild discomfort that you will become used to, seat belts will reep you nothing but benefits. wear them.

looking at the car i cant believe i walked away. i dont feel "lucky", but i do feel blessed. a foot either way i would've hit a tree (see the fender + quarter panel?). that much of a difference at 55 mph.....think about it.

Sorry to hear about the car and the accident. It's sad when things like this happen. Good luck to recovery, not the physical part, the parting with your S5.

Yeah, you're an ******* and all, but I wouldn't wish that on anybody... Glad you're not hurt, hopefully the court system won't go too hard on you... I'm assuming the GXL is totalled?

It's definatly totalled, just incase you were wondering what the insurance is going to say. Do you have a better picture of that corner?

Wow, sorry about the car, but the important thing is you and your passenger are both ok. I've almost been bitten by unmarked turns in VA a few times myself.

i agree, i had a mishap like this, hit a tree with an impact speed of 100mph, if i hadnt had a seat belt, or my passenger, we'd both be dead.

glad to see your ok, i would post a smart *** pic but im at work.

You can buff that out....

Glad to hear you only sustained minor injuries. I got in an accident where some ******* drove over the hood of my FC....I was pretty pissed off.

anything you pay to have put on the car can be taken off if the insurance totals it and buys the car from you. therefore, you just paid for the rebuilt and ported motor. take it out, reuse/sell it
