I too want to contact him in regards to his car's "diet." His car supposedly weighs 2120lbs.....! With a full roll cage too.

That is nuts.

Please remember we are talking "real" race cars here ---
No glass, lexan only where needed, doors are SINGLE layer only with just enough metal to hold the hinges in place. Fiberglass hoods weigh 3 pounds. Front fenders are thin fiberglass. Entire front nose piece is maybe 10? pounds- and held to frame with maybe some aluminum rod or sheet.
NOTHING inside except gauges, cage, fire bottle, lightweight seat, belts, etc.
Exhaust usually made out of .065 stainless, muffler is 12 pounds. Lightweight wheels and race tires (a LOT lighter than street tires).
Absolute minimum wiring. Every piece/bracket (and there are a BUNCH) throughout the car is cut out/off if not needed.
Some suspension components can be lightened a lot.
