*** Adjusting Idle ***
Does anyone know how to adjust the idle on an 86 rx7 n/a? My idle is good at times but was told by the previous owner that the idle needs to be adjusted.
I have a mechanic that has worked on it before but forgot how to adjust it. Can any one tell me how to adjust it, because my idle sometimes drops to 300 and than raises back up to 750.

I'll answer this before you get seriously flamed...
1) Adjust the TPS to 1000 Ohms, engine fully warmed up
2) With the engine still in fully warmed up state
3) Short the initial set connector. It's a green 2 pin connector located near the battery in front of the strut tower.
4) Crank the engine and adjust idle to 700-800 rpm by turning the screw on top of the throttle body.
5) Remove the short wire from the initial set connector
Pretty simple process and after you've done it a few times it becomes an automatic process. If you have idle problems after this you might want to start looking for vacuum leaks or other causes.
The online Factory Service Manuals are a wealth of information. Learn where they are and how to use them.
