i already replaced the logicon with a brand new one so thats not it and i dont want to take the heater crap out though i think i will have to... any ideas on why its not working?

If you replaced the Logicon then it is the Air mix control motor. Do you hear flappers moving and does the air change blower locations?

i have a broken air mix motor... i just went under the dash and unhooked the metal push rod and now i get heat except the controler is backwards cold for heat, hot for cold air

There is a write-up around here to test the air mix motor. You just use a 9 volt battery. Try searching air mix motor write-up.
