$950 for Jspec 13BT good deal?

I called a place in california that sells jspec engines. They told me they had a s5 13bt with intercooler, ecu, transmission, and even s5 taillights for $950. It could be shipped for an extra $150. He claimed it only had around 42k miles on it. I was wondering how good of a deal is this? Does anyone know a more reliable source that may be less $$? My TII I picked up currently isn't running and has 140k on the clock. I don't think the motor is blown but it probably could use a rebuild anyways. I figured this would be cheaper instead.

Let me know ~Cody

That is a really good price for all of that. An extremely good price as a matter of fact. But, if your getting a jspec engine, your best bet is to assume that it will need a rebuild. Most of those engines have been sitting in junk yards for years. But you may get lucky and get a good one. But just plan for it, because you never know what shape its in.

Seems like a good deal with all that stuff, but I would go with somebody who does stateside compression tests and offers a guarantee on the motor.

Wow thats an amazing deal, the tailights alone are worth $150-200, figure another $175 for the transmission, $100 for the ecu, $30 for the ic , and that makes the motor cost a whopping $450 , id jump on it if i had the money!
