I understand the cost associated with this swap and I have taken the time to analyze the quickbooks logs of those who have performed this swap.

I realize this is a bit of money but that is why I ask this question. I want to see what you guys would do. These are all very good suggestions.

Part of the issue is that although the 20b is nearly done I don't have a garage to store it in and work on it in. But a friend of mine is willing to let me use his warm garage to work on the one in mention and I need something to tinker with over the winter.

why don't you spend a little money to rent a place for your 20B swap (so you don't have to deal with the hassle of sharing a garage) and then keep the rest in the bank? And the 20B is going to still cost you an assload of money. You always end up spending way more than you think you will once the project is in the debugging phase.

Seriously man, for all you know you could get canned tomorrow or have your pay cut. Two project cars is just extravagant for the times we live in, unless you are very established financially and don't have a lot of debt.

You may very well be right, what you are saying sounds very responsible. I will make sure to be quite aware of my financial situation before making any significant financial moves. At this point I am looking to make a career move and maybe I should see how that goes first.

i think you should save it until your engine actually blows so you can afford the rebuild +goodies

Alright, so you want to go fast for 6k? Best and cheapest route to get you in the 10's, would be to pick up a old fox body mustang for cheap. Build you the 5.0 ($900 to forge the bottom end). Pick you up some 4 link suspension for the rear, a set of 10.5 slicks. Pull the front sway bar. Then buy nitrous accesories and spray the ***** off of her. Trust me. For under $5k you can do this and have enough money for all the beer its going to take.

I've thought about something similar considering they make a subframe to put a BBC in a fox body, although I'm not really looking for a drag car right now. By the way how do you like Bowling Green? I am hoping to move to that area for employment this summer.
