Here she is :-)
Ok, here she is. Pulley went on just fine. Some people were worried about the metal, It looks like it is coated (get rainbow colors when you look at it). I am not a metal expert, but it is the same metal coating that Racing Beat uses on the ACV and EGR blockoff plates. So it must stand up to anything :-) I hope all of you planning to remove your air pump ordered this $5.00 pulley.

I could be wrong...
but it looks like cadmium plating, the Japanese auto makers also use
this plating to protect metal parts. I'm sure that you have all seen it.
Can't see the inside bore, is it keyed where it goes onto the shaft?

The thing about the expensive ones is not the fact that it is a double belt pulley. It is the fact that the expensive ones are aluminum made so that way your belts will last for a very very very very long time. I cannot remember the last time we changed belts on the Drag RX-7, Actually it was on October last year when we went to Lakeland Florida. We got both of them top and bottom. In the longshot they are worth it... But for grip after removing the air pump it is a great idea that $13.00 one....

ok, has anyone else ordered this pulley ?
2 places I called don't have them in stock.
Another place only had one left and total shipped would be $16 and they want me to get an account, but in order to do that I have to go through a bunch of BS.
rxhevin, I sent you a PM

Banned. I got OWNED!!!
Ill paypal someone $20 for one of these plus shipping. Someone with proper account should order up a bunch and resell them for a bit of a profit, a few bucks each to make it wort your time and make it more available to us who dont have as much access to them.

I also posted this on the first gen forum, but this may interest some. With a little searching I found the following site:
http://24.123.19.213/RandRRegulatorsSite/
They have the pulley for $4.00. Here is the email they sent to me:
The P-164 (WAI# 24-83100) was priced at the amount you had of $4.00. We may be able to give you a price brake if a large quantity is ordered! Our part description is 3/8 X 2 11/16 X .592 which equal to 10mm belts X approx 68mm OD X 15mm bore. The only dimension that was slightly different than what you listed was a little less than 1mm for OD, which should not make a difference. We hope to hear back from you soon. We are looking foward to doing business with you. Have a terrific day!

They seem like friendly folk, so I am going to attempt to order one. If anyone is interested in a group discount (how much cheaper than $4.00 is possible?) I would highly suggest emailing them. This seems too good to be true, I don't think I have ever only paid $4.00 for anything on this car.

There is an alternative... that costs even less. Get a 3L220 belt from your local hardware store. Not REAL easy to install, since there is no adjustment on the pulleys involved, but you can just "work it on" over the e-shaft and waterpump pulleys.

rx7_ragtop: yeah i was wondering about using a really little belt to just go from the main pulley to the water pump. if anything that would be better than the dual pump, except that it wouldnt look as cool

The underdrive pulley actually aids in cooling since it prevents cavitation of the water pump at high revs and most under drive pulleys are not highly under-driven as to effect the efficiency of the water pump during steady state driving or even idling on a scorcher of a day. Pulleys like the UR pulley make most of their power from being so light, improving response and mileage very noticabley. i honestly think the UR pulley is a must have for every 2nd gen, especially the NA. The only downside I can think of would be idle voltage at night with your lights on in a car with a killer stereo using high draw amps. An NA with a catback, racepipe, intake, pulley and aluminum flywheel transforms the entire car...

This might also be the case with the main "crank" pulley on the RX-7
