Question $100 rx-7

hey I have a chance at an rx-7 for $300-$100 it is a 86 model with 69,000 miles on the motor. the fender hugged another car on the front pass side so it was totaled by the insurance and got a salvage title. it is still driveable but the exhaust has been removed and sold but not before I saw it run. so what do you guys think? go or no go? anything that I should look out for for this model? thanks

Bach

PS. it has the 13b engine with turbo

The engine and transmission alone are worth more than $800.You can't lose.Fix the damage or swap the engine into a blown TII or N/A.Whatever you do it is still a great deal.

Yah really, its probably worth double or triple right now. You can always rebuild the engine and get exhaust for cheap. And as for the fender I bought a new one for mine when i got my car for 80 bucks canadian.

Well if its an 86 then its not an actual TII, so you might want to check to see if the entire driveline was swapped or not.

While it is true that there where no Turbo's until the 1987 model year, the data plate on the door jamb can be misleading. I have an '87 TII that has a date of manufacture of 3-86.
The 10th character in the VIN indicates the model year. 1986 'G' ;1987 'H' .
Good luck with your find!
