Lightbulb Would your sell your 7? if $$$$ is right? how much?

Well today i was driving my car and this gut told me i'll buy your car how much? i straight out told him $10,000 flat no less than that... he said i go the money... i told him well i'm not selling it thought, but i'll think about it... he said then is it worth it, so i pulled over and popped the hood and showed him the works and told him the mods

GXL to T2
Engine rebuilt 2000 miles
new clutch ACT stage 3
brake lines, clutch
racing beat full exhaust
hks intake
walbro fuel pump
1800 cc secondaries
stock primaries
street ported
new racing beat suspension
new struts
new strut towers front and back
bomex bumper
mariah motor sports flare fenders
Koyo radiator
10mm spark plugs wires
thermotec acustical matt under carpet
Haltec e-8
Aem air/fuel ratio
boost gage
quick release wheel and hub by NRG innovations

He said that's worth it... i gave him my number and lets see what happens... i have owned the car since 2000 and the interior is in mint condition and so he saw it for himself. Would you sell it... i'm still hesitant because i love my 7 and if sell i would buy me another one... what you guys think?

If i was offered $10k for my RX7 i would sell it, it would be hard but it would be gone.

With that much $$$ i could go get another RX7 in any flavor i want (or even have half a 3rd gen). I would then buy a turboII for $3000 - $4000.

Then spend another $3 - $4k modding it. and stillhave some left for gas.

Yeah, not a hard choice. PLUS working on a car whan you have money to burn is so much fun. you want a part, you get it.

OR you could take that case, get a TII shell, and drop a 20b in it! now that would be worth it!

I think its kind of hard to get the money you put into a project car anyway, if you are thinking about selling I would go for it.

just depends on your financial situation. If $10k isn't that hard for you to come by, then keep it because the money will be gone long before the memories.

I don't think is the money, i love this car... it runs great... I love this car more than my girl (don't tell her, but she has an idea) i have owned this 7 for years, but i have always loved the 1st gen... but i have spent so much time with this car is crazy, we have been through so much you know... i think i am emotional attached to the car, but money talks... if he came with the money cash i think that i might give in and get me a fist gen... i financially stable, i don't need to sell the 7 to pay up any bills... is just a hobby, i love rotaries... fell in love with them from the moment that i drove my first gen (little disappointed on the rx8) but i love rotaries.... I figured since most of us are hard core rotary owners i figure i asked to see for how much they would sell their car if someone would like to buy it from you...

I'd sell my car for $10k delivered anywhere in the US in a heartbeat and not think twice about it.

Granted, that's because I paid $400 for it and it's missing an engine right now...

That's a tough question...I know how you feel when it comes to sentimental attachment to your car. I know that if I sold my FC just due to the parts that are on it I'd never be able to rebuild another one exactly like my current one, however if someone waved 15K in my face they'd probably have a better chance of getting me to part with it. Besides everyone has that one car, granted you have memories with the car but if the 1st gen is your pedestal car, then my suggestion is now is your chance to own it so go for it. Just my .02 cents...

I think what we say, shouldn't influence whether you sell or keep your car. Do what you think you will be happy with no regrets.

I would say $10,000 is above what the car is worth, and you would have to agree.
However, if you dont want to sell it.....well thats your call. But I doubt he will call you back. I wouldnt sell mine unless I was offered double what its worth, and It would take a long time to achieve the love for another 7 that I have for mine. I enjoy having something that you dont see 5 or 10 of them on the way to work.

I will trade it for a early ninties Eunos Cosmo 20b though.....and maybe some cash hehe

Just keep the car unless he really comes off w/ 10G's

Selling your baby is really hard, sometimes i realize that I would rather have something I worked really hard for than the money. But 10k is a hard thing to refuse. It sounds like to me the guy has no problem with the price. Try explaining to him that you thought about it and you realized that the setimental value and the car overall is worth more. Try starting at 14k and work your way down to a good number.

if you can sell it do it. the chance that you'll find someone to buy an FC for above $9k is pretty slim. i sold my s5 t2 for over 10k at the peak of the market (IMO).

I dont know what the market for rx7's is like in your area, but for $10k you could but a stock Tii and a first gen for a project car.

Screw that, 10 grand is ******* chump change after 6 years of modification.

An FC that sells for 10K has closer to 25 put into it. A seller at that point has no option but to take what they can get for an aging sports car.

But $10,000 won't get you that far if you have to build and purchase an entire other car - **** that ****........

It's awesome that your selling the FC for $10k. It raises the bar for pricing on 2nd gens and let's consumers know these cars will soon be hard to find and on their way ( hopefully soon) to rarity status.

I say sell it and build an even better FC or 3rd gen...never know, it might end up being your new love...
