Would anyone here pay $6,500 for an 87 Turbo with 60K miles?

Would it be worth 6.5K for a 60K mile turbo in showroom condition, completely stock, and all maintainace done thru 60K miles with factory undercoating and no rust? Everything on the car works as new. And the compression is within specs.
It's red with the grayish interior.

It looked great in the pics but you never know.

He was asking $7,500, now $6,500. Is it worth it?

I would say yes... Figuring that an ok T2 that runs and drives runs about $3500-$4000 around here... so an extra $2k for a MINT one is worth it IMO... talk him down to $6k...

depends on what you want to do with it...

if you want to build it, no need for one in that good on condition. if you just want to drive a nice stock TII, then its definitly worth 6k.

There's a list of all the parts you should check out, aaroncake even mentions some areas where if it's iffy, you can use them as 'bargaining chips' so, give that a good read.

I paid 5g's for a 91' Turbo with 81,000. Paint is pretty good, Interior is near mint besides the seats(it's got GTUs seats instead of leather) 3" Turboback exhaust. RTek 1.5 and a little bit of rust on the spare tire well.
I think $6500 is out there for a stock car.

Busted.

Not really, I've only bought low mileage cars and I've only been pricing the 2nd gens for a small time. And I like ro see what the club thinks.

Seems like the prices people are paying for our cars is going up. A few years back I ask the same question about a black GTUs and 6,500 was thought to be too much. Right there, I am confused, I would think the GTUs is worth more. It had very low miles and I let it slip by. I regret that move.

With this turbo, I was kinda expecting to hear, It's too high but I didn't.

NADA quoted my 1987 TII w/ 54k original miles and one owner @ $7,200 when we bought it for right around $4,800. That was almost 2 years ago.

Checked NADA, it wouldn't let me key in a mileage for the classic cars but the best price was $5,400.

I ended up building a car in ok condition but then spent a ton of time and money returning things to stock (broken OEM parts and hacked up crap from a previous owner). If I could do it again I would've bought a car like that provided the motor (shortblock) was healthy.

The turbo models I think are worth more money now if they are clean. The vert prices seem to be steady. The n/a ones are only going to get worse. It's hard to say for the GTUs though. I see a lot less 2nd gens around now compared to 5 years ago when I first got into them.

I bailed on the turbo. Idaho seemed too far to go. Found an 84 SE. It will be a perfect driver. It's my first fb and I like it.
