Judging by the picture you might have to take the restricter plate of the red dragon to get it to fit, but you should try first before you embark in something that crazy.

Honestly, don't mess with the stock radio. Get an aftermarket unit with CD, new speakers, scrap the factory amplifier setup, and add a powered subwoofer behind the passenger seat and it will blow your mind compared to the old system. Do as above and you will have a home stereo sound in your car. Makes driving the car much more exciting.

does stock rx7 even have good sound insulation? ive got all aftermarket stuff but i can imagine how much better it could sound with some sound insulation.

I installed several sound dampening items from Second Skin Audio in Arizona and my car is comparable to a luxury car after the install. It helps the audio sound so much better you would think your sitting on you're couch at home and listening to your home stereo unit. It's night and day and was definitely worth the effort and price to get rid of the noise!

Weight is a huge factor to though. Sound dampening material will add alot of weight, especially if you have a subwoofer too. i have a 12inch but i personally dont mind gaining 50-100 for a good stereo because much more enjoyable to drive. bump some Techno or Ramstein and your going to want to drive fast

thats an s4 radio. it will fit, but the wiring is different. you can make it work if you get the correct plugs/wiring for the back of the radio and splice it in to your existing wiring, but if you're going for a stock look, just wait for an s5 radio to come around.
