ya.. anyone who would use BONDO for that deep of work would be a jackass... but as he mentioned ( maybe in another thread ) that duraglass was used to fill the strips... So lets talk now about who knows what about body work? do you know what duraglass is?

So what's the beef?
It's still "bondo" - plastic filler.

You just can't handle criticism.
You DID ask...

Enuf obout the car... This thread is about my interior.. What do you guys think about the pearl????
So I just replied, it looks like ****.
Hey, you asked for it.
Yeah, it's not.
I wouldn't be caught dead in an FC like that.
Once you remove the middle "rub strip", the car looks like ***.
It looks like a gigantic toy car and not some serious sports car.
Filling in all of that with "putty" is just stupid.
...IMNSHO, of course.
Okay, dumbass...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bondo_%28putty%29
Bondo is a polyester resin product that when mixed with a hardener (an organic peroxide), or catalyst, turns into a putty which then sets and becomes rock-hard.
Bondo = resin
Wow, looks who's hatin' now?
This is why I got a problem with you and your **** talkin'...

Molded on kit is something the beginners cant comprehend. Takes lots of skill and knowledge to create body lines that didnt exist, and flow with the stock body lines like it was from the factory...
Why mold it in?
It's just going to crack off anyways.
See below.
https://www.rx7club.com/showpost.php...2&postcount=18
Dont even try to say .. oh ur kit gonna crack from vibrations , blah blah blah.. Like i said not for the beginners. Kit was molded on using resin and a catalyst hardner and couple of fiberglass layers of mating.
Oh, you're stupid to think it's NOT going to crack.
Temperature fluctuations are going to cause it to crack.
Lean on the car enough, and it'll crack.
Get into an accident, and it'll crack.
Differing materials expand and contract with heat / cold - it's basic physics, duh.
You can't bend the laws of physics.
Adding more BONDO is not going to make it stronger or prevent it from cracking; in fact you're making it worse.
So who is the beginner now?
If you mentioned "Duramix", than I would be a little more impressed.
Since you didn't, I call you an amatuer at best.
Even Duramix is not going to prevent your heavy *** body kit pieces to not crack at the seams.
I think you need to step away from the CRACK pipe...
CRACK pipe...get it...

I don’t want to get in the middle of this amusing little cat fight, but I must say once again that there is a right way and wrong way to mold an aftermarket bumper etc to metal fenders etc.
The guy that did mine has it down pat and specializes in custom body work. The key to doing it right that most people don’t do is to prepare the metal surface properly so the epoxy resin adheres properly, but the very most important step is to rivet the pieces together from the inside, which combined with a properly prepared surface and the right molding kit which penetrates into the rivets makes those pieces impossible to move independently of each other.
If done properly it would be more likely that any area on the car would form a crack before a properly molded joint. You could cut through a metal fender easier then you could cut through a properly molded joint between a fiberglass bumper and a metal fender. In fact, if you left the car outside to disintegrate the very last thing sitting on the ground would be a little sliver of metal and fiberglass holding on with dear life to the molding material.
This is only my 2 cents, but sometimes seeing is believing.

Dont be so stupid.. check it..... have you ever made your own duraglass? Have you ever used fiberglass matte and resin? Hey little man.... im gna give you some homework.. take ur lil haten *** to local hardware store, buy resin and buy fiberglass matte , cut about 4 sheets lay it over anything round. Heres the fun part, add ur hardner and resin and brush it on. Let it dry and fully cure. Then try to break that. Hahaha lol, u seriously make me laugh!
Its okay that u dont like my 7 . Like i said in the post you took ur spare time to find... This rx7 is just not for beginners or little fruits like you. If you dont have any hands on experience then just seriously .... shut your mouth......

I'm not a big fan on white interiors due to one shiny *** Accord interior I used to ride in (a buddies car back in high school). He eventually started putting towels on the dash due to the amount it reflects in the windshield and on your face. It's cool for show, but not for driving.
Car looks pretty mean on the outside.

Ya i took the reflection into consideration allready.. I added a flattening agent into my clear coat and there is no gloss on the dash.. If the white makes it hard to c wen im just cruzin around town then i got a black fc dash cover that does the trick....And yes i built this car for the show!

and btw, ya i do know my ****. i also know that ". The key to doing it right that most people don’t do is to prepare the metal surface properly so the epoxy resin adheres properly," is correct, but the riviting part is dead wrong. if you prepare the metal correctly, and use the correct procedure, you can adhere anything to anything.
also, if i want to combine a fg front end. im going to cut off the flanges on the body pieces themselfs, ruff up the edges and fiberglass the pieces properly to make it 1 uniform piece. same process and fixing broken fg pieces.
oh, and duraglass, bondo (they are just name brands), no matter how you cut it, filling in anything thicker than 1/32 of an inch, you are ******* retarded.
peace

You're barking up the wrong tree when speaking about a guy without FC experience. Ted knows his ****... www.fc3spro.com

1)Never post a thread like this again. Because, no matter what you do you cannot stop someone from giving their opinion on a PUBLIC FORUM.
2)Grow some skin! Who ******* cares if someone doesn't like your car. If you like it thats all that matters!

I'm only going through this one.
Since you keep bumping your thread with updates, it ends up on the top of this subsection.
How can you call that "old"???
I like that you even did some research to find a link about bondo.. That just takes the cake man.. I mean seriously???? Y wud someone take the time to do all that work??
If I just said "Bondo = resin" and not cite any references, would you take it at face value?
I ******* doubt that, since you're already on the defensive, and your replies are already negative.
I back my **** up - this is called being THOROUGH.

I have used Tiger Hair.
It's not the exact same product, as Tiger Hair uses much longer fiberglass strands.
It's a pain in the *** to use.
Using **** like this to fill **** is just plain rookie ****.
Given enough time, it's going to all crack.
Oh, and if it wasn't obvious, I've used Bondo products before.
Its okay that u dont like my 7 . Like i said in the post you took ur spare time to find... This rx7 is just not for beginners or little fruits like you. If you dont have any hands on experience then just seriously .... shut your mouth......
I've been doing the car show scene since the 80's...probably before you were born.
I can see why people do white interiors, but it's not very practical as a daily driver.
I fricken' hurts my eyes as a daily driver.
Hey, if you're going to plant that thing in your living room and not drive it around a single day, then enjoy your new furniture.
Personally, I like to *drive* my cars...especially my FC's.
I've also seen molded-in kits, and I have NEVER seen one without a crack given enough time.
I've seen Corvettes with fiberglass panels done at EXPENSIVE (there's a body shop down here called "The Corvette Shop") shops which all end up looking like *** cause the panels warp.
Which means...through my experience, you don't know what you're talking about.
