Yea it fits on the car but it looks like it only has maybe 1cm of clearance between the back of the d2s connector and the frame. I had to take a hole saw and cut the back out of the housing to move the projector far enough back so it wouldn't hit the front lens of the housing.

I guess it depends on preference they like the fx'r because of the cutoff and foreground limiter it has which makes the light appear further into the distance. On the other hand i like the mini d2s because beam uniformity and more foreground light but then again i can mod my mini and put a limiter on it and so on.

I think the output is the same but i think they are reffering to the foreground lighting that the minis have. This will cause your pupils to get smaller resulting in not seeing the light further down the road. This can be solved by putting a foreground limiter into the mini which take about 5 minutes to do.

im waiting on different shrouds, but I think I can offer a good group buy kit in the under $500 shipped range.
Will post pictures when its complete, TRUE plug and play, no cutting required, lights themselves would install in about 5 minutes. NO spacers, no brackets, it would be as easy as a h4 conversion installation

no body filler, no spacers, no spray paint.
Modified my 12 year old h4 conversion housings, probably pick up a new set of housings without the word ADJURE on them.
Just have to put the shroud around the projectors, dont like the shroud I ordered, and butyl the lenses back onto the housings.

I used nothing, dropped them in. They are just clearing the lenses, but I plan on installing a small shim/spacer between the glass and the housing if the HID guys say to give the projector more space then what it has now. I will have my plastic guy cut it on the cnc machine from something or have my metal guy cut it from alum on his cnc machine, but it would be less then 1/4 needed if anything. I accidentally ordered the appolo shrouds because it was the default, wayyyyyyy to large. Im not sure what shroud I am going with, you can barely see the shrouds in there anyhow

Looks good guys. I think I was way overthinking this whole thing, you guys have a much better idea. I chopped the whole back of the housing off and was going to epoxy it on. I love the idea of the pvc cap after cutting out the original mounting point. Glad I got a couple sets of ebay housings, I'm going to try another set.

it was thanks to the conversations in this thread and alot of research then it was just putting it together. I would have done it a while ago but with the car in storage and constant snow on the ground it was not on my priority list.
It took me longer on the first light leaving it in front of a double halogen work light one side at a time, second light I just went at it with a heat gun and separated the housing ( I have no oven and work ) and honestly I cant see putting a light in the oven when a heat gun does the job in like 2 minutes with the help of a 90 degree dental pick. when I put them back together it will be with the same adhesive that held them together the first time.
I can close it up now but I think I will want a little bit more space so thats where my lens spacer comes to play, we know there is a bit of room in front of the lights in our cars, but there is little room behind. It will be in there firm and as-stock, no removal of anything else except to make your ballast mounting and wiring- which would be needed for any HID install, even the $39 ebay ones.
Reger- I am going to order another set of housings to confirm my spacer will work with other brands, but it would be easy enough for either of regular vendors to adjust the template once they have it.

right now I have glass, these were my existing h4 conversion housings I had, nothing is sealed up I can swap them out to another housing.
you using plastic or glass? with plastic I bet I can put a small bubble in the lens for clearance and eliminate a spacer but I think it will look goofy
