I would kill for an all brand new stock /showroom interior. Mix in with a aftermarket steering wheel, a boost and water temp gauge, and maybe a bucket for the driver and be set. I say new interior because the plastic is soo brittle and all fresh carpets would rock.

Some of the earliest '79 SAs came with plaid interiors stock. I always thought they were cool. If you got some quality fabric and did a good upholstery job, I think that would be awesome.

I have a very clean original gray interior so mine's kind of boring, but I like it.

While this is mostly true, Mazda/Mazdatrix no longer have a lot of interior plastics for the less common colors like red or blue. There's still a lot available if you have a gray or black interior. Of course, the radio surround and shift boot are black on all FCs, so you could at least get that kind of stuff.

I have gotten some select items myself from Malloy Mazda. It adds up fast. I think a brand new S4 radio surround without vents is something like $90. Other stuff is surprisingly cheap, like the triangle demister vents which are about $10 each I think.

and the demister grilles are like 15 each. the center idiot surround i think is like 60 something. oh well, price you pay for a 20 something year old car, ya know? lol

Considering the age of the car, Mazda has maintained an amazing supply of parts for the FC. Lots of manufacturers get rid of everything after the mandatory 10 year period expires.

and you realize that its worth it to a few people to buy it all new, and not worry about aged plastic, cracking, warping, peeling, and previous owners............right?

no worries bro, i was there. im only 23, but i got a pretty bombass job, 50 hour weeks.
im just now being able to buy the parts i want, most of which being just too damned expensive, and borderline hard to justify buying them lol

Actually, if money was no object, I'll bet 90% of FC owners would have a different car. I'm probably one of the few who keep mine just because I love it.
