What a STEAL!
What a STEAL!
Well... i finally got my motor for the motor swap in my first gen. Here is the doner car.
ENJOY. (let me know if anything looks weird of fishy)
1988 Mazda RX7 Turbo II. S4 13b single turbo. Full rebuild using 3mm apex seals/ FD side seals and springs/ new rotor housings, mild intake streetport, ported wastegate and knife edge throttle body porting, series 5 turbo, 750cc secondaries/680cc primary injectors, Walbro 255lph fuel pump with Walbro adjustable fuel pressure regulator, 2571 engineering block off plates, PD elimination mod, Apexi N1 muffler, Exedy stage 3 racing clutch, ACT aluminum flywheel, Short throw shifter, Eibach 1" lowering springs, JIC magic shocks, RB sway bars, drilled brake rotors, 18" TSW wheels(265r/245f), Autometer 6" racing tach with shift light, and Autometer Boost/Oil PSI/ Water temp/ AirFuel guages. The car came with no radiator, intercooler, intercooler piping, down pipe, midpipe, air intake hose/ MAF/ air filter, and BOV. The guy i bought it from said it should be about 280 crank HP at 10psi when he had it running. He spent a total of 2,137.50 dollars on the whole rebuild with lots of good hookups and best friend discounts. He only put 3,100 miles on it.

looks like its going to be a fair amount of work to put that thing back together. and the gauge install on the dash looks kinda ghetto. how much did you say you got it for?
The engine will be going in my first gen so it is alot of work anyways.
Yeah the gauges are kinda ghetto but they work.... i mean look at the rest of the interior. haha.
Oh now for the best part.... $1400!!!

Wow! That is a good deal. Now, what was his reason for selling???? Thats the only thing I find "fishy" is motor and chassis with low miles being sold for that cheap without something being really wrong. If nothing is wrong than awesome!!

Dude. I'm so sorry, I know the original owner ( https://www.rx7club.com/members/driftn7-106048/ ). He did a backyard rebuild, blew it, then I think he had a friend in Seattle rebuild it later on. The car has been in a mild accident with a curb (back drivers side wheel, and you'll see some curb rash).
You won't get a title, because he got that car on a loan, and never paid it off. The owner before him had no idea what he was doing, and the entire electrical system is FUCKED. It should start and run fineish if you replace the intercooler / piping / BOV.
lol I even have the plug wires and coils from that car. I have two extra pairs if you need some to get it running.
Here's where his lies start.
Do a VIN lookup, I recall it being an 86.
He warped his housings from overheating or some **** while pushing 15lbs of boost, he cut corners and only replaced the worst housing. So it has 1 new (it may have been used) housing. The mild streetport is right, that car sounds amazing at idle, and it pulls hard. The clutch isn't an Exedy Stage 3, it's an Ebay XTD Stage 3. The springs aren't Eibach, they're cut, and I've never heard anything about JIC struts. It's possible, but unlikely. I heard he was going to buy them but I know for a fact he wouldn't put them on a car he sold. The shifter isn't a short throw, he simply sawed off the stock shifter (you should be able to pull the shift **** off with a decent amount of force).
I would check the fuel pump, make sure it's a Walbro. I think it's stock. I have't heard of any FPR in ther either. I'm more than positive that flywheel is stock.
The MAF/Filter is in my garage if you want it. Also, about a month ago, he told me there was less than 1500 miles on the rebuild.
THINGS TO LOOK OUT FOR:
Electrical
Water Pump Housing Bolt: I took one off because a bolt snapped out of my NA
OMP line banjo bolts: I took two (again, mine snapped)
Make SURE that turbo is perfect, we've had issues with it spraying oil all over the place. I think he fixed it a while ago though.
Guages. They suck ***. They work less than half the time.
The engine, it runs like **** until you get it up to speed, turn it off, then roll start it. IDK why it does that.
lol those are my S4 tails on the car, I bought his S5 tails
Also, finally, make sure it makes good compression. It's been sitting for a while. It sat for over 4 months, then we got it running again (albiet very poorly), and then it sat for another couple months as a parts car.
Still, congratulations on the find. With just the engine, and various other parts you probably found a good deal.
Don't use those rims, they're heavy as ****. I would suggest putting them on a domestic or something >_>
Also replace that XTD Clutch, it's **** to drive, I recommend an Exedy Stage 2 instead.
-- Also --
Don't use that chassis when it's raining outside, it leaks EVERYWHERE. Doors, hatch, roof, everywhere.

dam 280hp on stock turbo!! i must be pushing that as well!! i kid i kid.
well he said its a parts car.. so shouldnt be too bad.. once he rips those gauges out, if he decides to use them, should be fresh wiring job and what not they should work provided the prior wiring job was probably crap how you said , this car sounds
'mickey moused" together

Wow. That ******* blows.
I thought that everything was new on it. He is a liar then.
Wow. You really do know this car. It is missing the water pump bolt and the 2 OMP bolts. HAHA.
I will have to get the a new clutch then. Is the one in the car to stiff or is it just garbage and slip?
The turbo looks great. I will check the oil lines on it later. It has no shaft play at all.
I just carfaxed it... It is an '88.
I have a picture of the FPR in my other posts. It is pink.
I want the MAF/Filter and wires!!! I already bought coils.
Those HAVE to be aftermarket springs. That suspension rediculously stiff. It wont even budge and inch when you get in it.
I knew the shifter was sawed... it is still a short throw!
I wont be using the rims on my car. They are WAY to big and heavy for a first gen.
Like i said before... the engine will be going into my first gen so it will be completly rewired. I will just rewire all the guages and harness to make it work. I am most likely getting a standalone too: Haltech E8.
How could you have boughten the S5 tailights.... that car is an S4...
That thing doesnt leak at all. It has been raining in Lake Stevens for 3 days straight and there is not a single bit of water in the car.
The engine turns over great! I got like half a turn till some compression.

The wires are just stock, they aren't super valuable, but I can send them along with the maf and filter if you pay for shipping only. (I won't charge for them lol)
Like I said about the parts I was wrong about, I wasn't sure, I just didn't hear about it, or it sounded fishy.
I really suggest checking the springs though before you assume they're aftermarket. Same for the struts.
The guy is a real liar, make sure those injectors are the sizes he said before you get a fuel system for it. All I'm saying it verify everything he says before just taking it for granted. You still got a great deal for everything you *did* get.
You can easily sell the rims and tires to some unsuspecting ricer
---
EDIT:
The owner before him bought the S5 tails for the car, I, in turn, bought them from him and replaced them with my S4 tails.
I'm also surprised you haven't gotten leaks, everytime we hit a car wash or rain, it'd leak like a ****.
---
EDIT 2:
The clutch grips fine from what I've driven of it. It's just soo ******* stiff. It's NOT streetable. Probably fine for a track, but I really suggest a name brand stage 2 before you turn it into a DD.
GOOD LUCK mate, I'm glad someone's going to be using this engine!

im sorry to butt in this bullshit conversation, I know I told alot of information so its easy to misinform. The **** goes like this 550cc primary inj. (stock) then 680 sec. inj. put in by ERIKS7 very reputable member on the forums. ebay fuel pressure regulator. I did in fact tell you about the bolts missing, no big deal. There are NO such thing as JIC struts or shocks. JIC im almost certain only makes coilovers. All these misinterpretations could have been avoided if JMKOGOUT would keep his mouth shut, and if you would post the right information you have all the details in hand on paper and email regarding everything done to this car so check the facts before you post bullshit. An 86' haha has anyone ever heard of an 86 TII? thanks for confirming that JMKOGUT=newb. There is NO point in spending $400 for an Exedy clutch as a drifter, dont be a ***** and you can drive it just fine, it takes time to get use to, it is a stage 3 for godsake. This TII has stock swaybars, my new car has RB swaybars, and my new car is an 86' I also said about 230-250 hp on 10-12psi. About 160000miles on the chassi and over 3000miles on rebuild. As for JMKOGUT saying there is no walbro check the reciept i gave you, it sais the original walbro was replaced with a new walbro. Im pretty sure the owner would know best, so with that said shut your mouth sir
rofl.
Who sounds more intelligent. Most of what I said was a suspicion. It's my word vs. yours and I have nothing to gain. I'm merely watching out for the kid. I'd love to see that FB when he gets the engine swapped in. It'll be a badass car.
There actually was an 86 TII. It wasn't in the American Market, but it existed.
I notice how you're magically going back on things you most likely told him before he bought the car just to make your sale. Now you're trying to cover your name.
I didn't mis-interpret anything. I simply made comments on what he posted. Read the ******* article. The name is 'jmkogut', it's to the left of anything I post. It's not that difficult to understand.
Also not everybody wants to drift the **** out of their car. You yourself have said that you as a drifter are cheap. You break **** so you try to fix it as cheaply as possible because you know you'll have to do it all over again in less than a year anyway. A clutch isn't something to skimp on.
