what is that one chick up to...

well. i've been upto alot in the last year n a half. havent posted up on here much at all. mainly cuz ya'll always give me a hard time. but thats ok. if ya'll wanna know what i am up to. well check it out. my photobucket has alot of stuff in it.
i've been sanding down my fc, i've orderd a new bumper. got some rims. got my paint in. going front mount intercooler next week.

those of you who know me know this is actualy a great achivement for me. i was able to sell my convertible. and i have been saving up since april. so i am finaly able to complete the exterior image of my rx7, and those of you who dont recall, i did do a rebuild and turbo swap last year with the help of a few members from this site.

enjoy this sneek peak to my project. i will be updating this thread as more unfolds.

I remembered when you did the two tone paint by cans
I thought it looked awesome.

Are you still going for that paint color you posted about a while back?

i wish i could still sell kits. or even buy them for myself. but i cant. i even have a huge crack in the glass on one kit

out with the new in with the old. how disapointing, new bumper was so out of shape that i have to revert to my old stiff fiberglass bumper. fitment is perfect. was a bit wavy as you can see below. the new bumper was made out of plastic and flex resin and fiberglass. much more flexible. but. ya got to do what you got to do....

No need to give her **** about the wing. When it was on Jesse's car, everyone was goo-goo for that ****. I think it actually looks good on a properly modded car and so far, she's done a great job with hers.

-1 the rest of the car looks okay...that wing just shouldn't be on any fc.

edit: just like this car...the wing ruins it and looks out of place

why would someone post pics if they didn't want criticism? if you think that wing belongs on a properly modded car i don't think we'd agree on what proper mods entail. simply put, that wing is not functional. i consider proper mods to be functional ones.

I'd rather have a functional part that is good looking than a "good looking" part that serves no function.

Totally...I agree with your statement regarding functionality. But...at the same time I can also see that wing on an FC provided that the other body mods matched it. Jesse's car looked good in my opinion with the GP kit and the wing....She's got the same thing going.

Everyone has their tastes. Her taste may not be the same as mine but I can still appreciate where she's going with the car.

And you guys have to admit lots of people would be singing a different tune if that wing was wind tunnel tested...

Personally, I go for function...100%...so I wouldn't go for that Mariah wing on my car.

+1 that advertised "flex" bullshit that companies be making, is really hard to repair as well.. Lets say you add fiberglass due to some mod you are doing to it, or repairing a crack, fiberglass+resin does not like to flex, so when you have a bumper that flexes and you add fiberglass to it, well it doesnt work out too well and eventually your patch work will come off.

well its made from fiberglass sheets but they use flex resin and a different type of gel coat. it would be annoying to put 1/4 inch of filler over whole front of bumper to even out and meet with the fenders.

its made of dence plastic i believe. and its hollow. its very light. maybe about 7 lb. no more then if you had a gallon of milk coming home from the store and decided to run some one. LOL

hey. you dont put MY wing on YOUR car and leave my car to me
this wing is from the early 90's . its been on alot of great fc. including jesse's. and when i saw it up for sale, i just had to buy it. i saw it at seven stock the year he won best fc in show. the wing helped win it because its an ORIGINAL mariah piece, even the mariah guys were impressed it was an original. i admit it is big. and may not flow with certian fc. and i know alot of people dont like it. but alot of people rather not put any aftermarket body piece on their car. i've never had a complaint about it in person. every one says that their mind changes when the actualy see the fc.
oh and. i dont go fast enough for any "wing" to be effective. so the issue of a wing being on a car for performance, just rule me out. fastest i go is about 80 on the highway, 50 on the streets, RARELY

love it . hate it . i dont care. its my fc and i love my FC.

this would look good if they had that very square flair fender kit on it. it doesnt look good from this angle though. it does cover the tail lights a bit. but i think with the right body style this spoiler woul look decent.
