I was going to hold out, but this thread is weird as ****. Are you posing with a cigar in that one picture on purpose? Also... are you supposed to be drifting or something in those other pictures?

its actually royal blue.... flash makes it way more intense but yeah it pops as i like to put it. i have no regrets, i think it looks good for spray on engine enamel also it feels like its all dipped or powder coated. vary smooth and honestly im not sold on the color yet im thinking of testing dark blue out.

You should paint the throttle body, Manifolds, and well... the whole engine too.

thanks for the advice, it looks to me like painting under the hood isn't popular with you guys. but here where i live i have people ask me to duplicate what i did to my car for cash. so yeah maybe its rice tastical but i get paid to do something easy and cheesy. its beautiful because i think people could do it them self but for some reason would rather pay me to buy a $7 can of spray paint and spend a few hours of my weekend tearing stuff apart and painting in my back yard. before you ask.... yes most the cars that are on my work list are Hondas. i just got done painting a truck engine. i was vary pleased with how it turned out and so was the owner, and i got money doing it.

Although I won't jump on the ridicule bandwagon, there are two things I don't like about your project-

I'm pretty sure that the paint on the flexible plastic parts is going to crack and peel in short order leaving them looking worse than stock (and much more difficult to clean up).

There is no cohesive design to the engine bay...painted parts are strewn randomly around and the contrast between the fresh paint and the rest of the bay is jarring. This is most obvious with the truck engine- the difference there is absurd. Why spend even the $7 for a rattle can when the rest of the car is covered in surface rust? The paint probably has more structural integrity than the rest of the chassis.

Hey man, you are on the right track but I would spend some time trying to get the whole bay up to a decent starting point before randomly painting charcoal canisters and TIDs, that bay actually looks to be in okay condition. Just spend soe time with a wire brush, tooth brush, rag and solvent ect.... and clean up the engine. Just taking a wet rag and wiping down the hoses and all of the old black surfaces will make it look a ton better, then you could even use an engine bay dressing armor all type product to keep them shiny and black.

Your car looks pretty good to start with, some simple maintenance and a reversal of that paint would do wonders man. But there are alot of people who have spent countless hours under their hoods and have repainted everything from the ground up, they're not going to be impressed by this, so don't take it too hard. And the poses look cool man, have fun with your car.

I would repaint those items black in the meantime

It reminds me of when you're super bored in class and you start drawing on your folder with white-out, then it just gets all over the place and by the end of class it looks like hell so you just throw it away...

you should have left it alone, looks like you actually took some time to clean the engine bay, then its ruined with that Pan Am blue paint.

Spraying silicone dressing on the motor would have a much better effect, or maybe a color that actually blends and compliments instead of looking like they came out of a totally different car in a junkyard.

You dont need gawdy "different" paint, you need paint that complements things, the paint on the truck engine actually looks better then your random blue job.

when my car was NA it was given much love and showed well for being stock. Of course now its even better turbo'ed, in the process of changing some things in the engine bay right now actually.
