hoodvents (if designed well) creates a low pressure section helping suck in cold air and hopefully decreasing engine temps or if actually setup properly, connected to a air intake system of sorts.
most of the time the big front mounts are WAY overdone and are kinda gaudy. in cali, its not illegal to have huge frontmounts, but screams that there is definitely something not stock about the vehicle which BEGS for tickets and harassment.
and also, if setup properly, front mounts can be completely concealed.
now, i agree that i like the car, but there is SO many small details that are completely left out, fix those small issues, that is a badass car.

Hood vents...similar to what are found on this FC do in fact create a low pressure zone and suck hot air out of the engine bay while moving. Notice the flip up before the vent...what this in effect does is push air flowing over the hood up and over the vents, a low pressure zone is created directly over the vents sucking hot air out (very little air is flowing directly over the vents). Let alone the simple fact that when you are idling it allows heat to escape (sitting in the pit after a run, etc)
What you are thinking of is NACA ducts that create a high pressure zone directly over the vent pushing air into the engine bay. The fad of raising the rear of the hood also creates a high pressure zone due to the windshield "building up pressure" as the air flowing over the hood collides with the windshield.
There is a use and place for both style of vent.

so what are the mods that have been done to this car, engine, turbo, suspension, ecu? i think the best fc in america should do much more than look good, it should perform better than it looks. how much boost is he running, how much whp?

I'd like a FC someday, but right now I don't have one.
I like the ones with the body kits and cool wheels.

pardon me if I like my body parts to be actually bolted on, takes alot of skill to choose between neutral or black colored zip ties dont it?
Besides its called hazing, its what we do, he seems like he is handling the hazing better then you do and I think he is only about 15 years old, sorry if we hurt your feelings little devil dude, dont worry you will be ok.
I will extend the olive branch to you red devil, how about a dozen heavy duty zip ties as a apology?

. Just so rare to see a nice, clean, well-built FC now. BlueTII; Juiceh; you just don't see projects like those anymore. Risky Devil's posts pretty much summarize the FC crowd nowadays. Sad.
Oh well, maybe I should just start looking for an FD shell.
Edit: Carl Byck's car and that grey widebody FC are both sexy, sexy beasts.
