trim level of car from pictures?

Greetings,

I'm am debating about buying the following car and was wondering if anyone could tell what trim level it is from the picutres?

from the vin number i know that it's a Coupe w/o auto shoulder belt, non-turbo.
the car has 135,000 km on it and is in running condition, for $600CDN i am ready to guese that had a base trim, but just wanted to get your opinion.

Thanks in advance.

p.s. just out of curiosity, anyone has an account to from carfax and could check the vin number for me?:P

That's what I was thinking, but didn't Canadian models have different trim levels, I think GX was one of them... not sure though. If that's not the case, I'm saying it's a GTU.

since you guys mention that it could be a GTU or GXL I look at the differance between thouse two trims, and noticed that only GTU did not have the rear wiper/washer. But then again GTU didn't have fog lights either. Oh well, if all goes well will have the car soon.

Thanks for the help ^^

you guys are really good at this.

Is that the Mazdaspeed spoiler?

At first I was thinking GTU, cause no rear wiper, but then I saw the fog lights... So it's hard to say... Does it have power lumbar adjuster? Power windows and door locks? That would be the GXL...

this car has a bit of a complicated story.
the add and owner say it's a 91, but what it was sold as to him, don't know.
the current owner bought it of a mechanic friend who bought it out of province, so it's possable there was missinformation, that is why i got the vin number to check as the same thing happaned with my fb, an ex neighbour was selling it as a 84, when i checked the registration turned out to be an 83.

The car is being sold right now for $600, and the guys selling it never had it regestered in his name, thats why the low price.

Hoping to be able to register it, if not will be used as a parts car for my fb, the rest partied out.

sorry, don't know.

Don't have the car yet and the add didn't list.
will ask the seller when i secure a deal on the car, but i doubt he will know.

Trying to sort out the transportation issues, since the car needs to travel 600km, and it's not registered, so it's an issue :P plus i'm cheap. aka no extra money to spend :P

It should have MazdaSpeed written on the underside of it if it is...

Do you guys have free towing services where you are? Like we have AAA here, maybe you haven't heard of it... But I've used it a couple of times when I bought a car that wouldn't run...

We have CAA, which is the same thing, but they offer free towing for the first 200km, after that $3 per km, so the math is (600 - 200) * 3 = $1200 just for the towing which is double the car cost lol.

I'm looking into other option richt now, but my plan is to get the car by the end of the week. Well if all goes well.
Will post more pics with detail information about the spoiler once everything goes though.

Dont know about the trim level but here in the states(Nebraska), he would have to go license it in his name, or at least go pay the sales tax in order to sign the title over. Just something to figure out before you give up any money.

I talked to the owner before, and he was in the process of getting it registered, however to get it fully registered he need to pass an inspection on the car, with a slight break problem, and no side window, it makes it hard.

definitly apritiate your 02c, and will try to make that a requirement, however keeping in mind it's a 90 fc for 600$, there definitly has to be problems, paper wise, car wise. from what i know it's paper wise in this case.

It's a GTU, my 1990 GTU also has foglights.

There are some companies specialised in transporting car, my roommate sold his car to a kid about 600km away. I don't tremember the exact cost but it was a very decent price and he ended making a good profit on a crappy mustang.

cool thanks RB_eater.

Yeah i looked into pricing for thouse companies, requisted a quote from 3 of them, it would still cost me more then the car itself.

I'm now waiting to hear from the seller if his friend is willing to transport it, if not considering just going there with my fb's plate, puting that on, and driving it home.
Trying to borrow a truck from a friend as well, but not sure if i will be able to.
