These things. I pulled one out one day and was wondering if they are important or not

They guide the glass into the channel when raising the window at speed.

I heard on new civics thoose tabs are antennas for the radio.. And ya I always wondered the same.. Thanx for clearing that up for me

Most modern aftermarket windshields come with the embedded antenna whether or not the car had one originally.

From the training manual (pg 15-23):

Diversity (dual) tuning system for FM
The system now includes two antennas and tuners so that stereo broadcasts can be better received by automatic selection of whichever antenna provides the best reception conditions.
