Are Staggered Wheels Necessary?

Like the title says....How "necessary" are they? My 7 is a 4 lug and I'd like to get a set of RPF1's or TE37s but they are only available in 16x7 or 17x7/7.5...

I'd like to get off of the 14 inchers...some day!

but.. i dont understand what you are asking. why do you want bigger wheels? are you saying that you can only get 2 16x7 and 2 17x7? why cant you run all 4 the same sizes? also 5 lug swaps arent hard and relatively cheap. the option for bigger wheels is better at 5x114.. but your 4 lug 14" wheeled s4 na car probably loves those little wheels.

i would just enjoy it as is.

Sorry what I had meant was in 16 inch rims I cant go wider than 7, and 17s are 7 or 7.5.

When talking about staggered, don't people usualy mean a staggered width?

ohhh see now i thought staggered meant it was a wider tire in the rear, not just offset.

staggered ususally means a different with or diameter. Offset will change with width.

You don't need to run staggered wheels but the rear hubs tend to sit in a bit (or the rear arches stick out a bit) so rear wheels often require a bit more negative offset or width.

For example i Had 8J +30 an and 9J + 36 advans and they just about lined up front and back

as for stagered diameter. 16 front 17 rear on the same profile tyre looks awesome
