Side Exit Exhaust

I wanted to see if any body has done it. Ive been wanting to do something different.

Does anybody have any pics? What are the cons? I know what the pros are.... awesomeness.

BTW this is for a turbo. I know its going to be loud. Im running an open downpipe under the car now and its really not that loud when im off throttle.

Lol what kinda of exhaust do you plan on using? Are u going to have a pipe for each side of the car or just a single one going to one side

This seems simple enough to think through...

Pros:
Less piping = less weight
Could look cool with a rear diffuser on the car to distract from no rear exhaust

Cons:
You have to cut a hole through the fender or rear quarter
You should rivet on some aluminum around exhaust exit for paint protection from heat/soot
There's no easy way of properly returning it to a rear exit again

Well, dude, uh... there you have it. It's not an easy task for the average person. Fabrication tools and skills are needed.

there was a thread on Ausrotary with a guy that did this but the thread appears to be gone. Its alot of work to get a side exit done right. You need to calculate the correct pipe sizing as you have to run quiet flat tubing which in itself isn't hard to fabricate just time consuming when bends are needed.

I couldn't find any pics tho.
