Question Should i trade my quad for this vert? Opinions needed

Hey Guy & Gals,

I'm thinking about trading my quad for this vert. I've been searching to see what S4 verts are going for now and saw ~$2000-$3000. This vert is pretty clean, owned by an older gentleman that bought it for his wife. It has very small tears on the top, no leaks. New tires, new inspection. A/C works but getting weak he said.

I havent seen it in person yet, just doing some research.

I think my quad is worth ~$3500.

I'm thinking this vert is a good solid $2500. What do you guys think?

Thanks

Hai H

"HAI-TEK7" You have to weigh all the variables, do you really need a vert? do you quad more than you cruise on the road ? Since the quad seems to be worth more than the vert , perhaps, you could sell the quad buy the vert and use the balance of the money for repairs and or accessories. What's the poissibility of gettin your hands on another vert in your area, and then would it be that clean of an interior? You know I'm biased , vert hands down, but you have to live with your decision, so think it thru.

I just realized , you mentioned, you havn't seen it yet, definetly go see it , picts can be forgiving, check out the interior and the paint job ,(sounds like thogh it was well taken care of), and then test drive, and I mean TEST DRIVE IT. If he doesn't want you to he's hiding something, from a dead stop ,accelerate quickly and shift thru the gears look for smoke puffs from the exhaust especially in the 2nd and 3rd gear ,in the rear view mirrow. don't hesitate to down shift, then when safe enough stomp on the brake, does it veer to the right or left, does it, need any front end suspension work, if you can test the compression, do it, , or ask if you could have it tested , once again if he's objecting , he's hiding something, and if the motor was'nt recently rebuild ,you be investing time and $$$ for a rebuild, and that needs to be considered into your tradeind or purchase. Inthe long run if it turns out o.k. verts are so fun to drive , you won't regert it.

Yeah thats my dilemma, I havent rode the quad in 2.5 years. Verts arent too hard to come by around here, I already have one in the garage, going to the darkside, sorry fellow rotards. I tried selling it, noone got money for a toy.

I'll def go see it, just weighing my options to get to that point. I will definitely do the basic tests on the rotary.

Yeah, it not just the quad. Its me taking a small $$ loss, but gaining the "getting to use it" factor.

I wouldn't do it. you probably paid 8-9k for that quad plus about 1k in upgrades. I would consider it but the vert has high mileage. You would be taking a major loss i think.

i would not trade. I would try and sell the quad put that money toward the v8 vert and get that on the road. i made way to many mistakes at this game. ive bought about 6-8 rx7's just to part out and such and wonder why i waste my money and time because i want my "real rx7 to be done" so i have something fun to drive.

Your wheeler is definately worth more than the vert plus 1/4 mile its prolly faster. Also would not trade.
