s5 trim on s4 help

well soon to be painting my 87 and i am swapping to s5 trim.i have full s5 trim and bumpers even the rare s5 side skirts toojust trying to figure out wat will work the best and look the nicest.

do i just cut the clips off the back and use double sided trim tape or something?

and how much are the sideskirts worth if i sell them? they are true originall 91' turbo 2 sideskirts

Oooo, good questions. I have done a FULL s5 exterior swap onto a s4 before (bumpers, fenders, doors, trim, mirrors, tails, ect.... The s5 front bumper to s4 fenders will be a problem. The flare of the bumper at the bottom is different from the fenders. It will look funky. Cutting "clips" and just using double sided tape will work for all the trim pieces, just do some research on the best kind of tape/adhisive to use. Good luck!

I dont know what you mean with that S5 bumper to s4 fenders will be a problem?
Maybe it was just your car that was screwy?
But why would you swap doors over for a S5 conversion anyhow?

"The flare of the bumper at the bottom is different from the fenders."

I think it's pretty clear what I mean, is it not? Have you put a s5 bumper on a s4?

The doors were swapped because everything s5 was swapped. I bought a full doner car and swapped everything.

yes I have put a s5 bumper on a s4 car, and I have even put a s4 bumper on a s5 car, I did not see any difference.

I know it is easy for a bumper to lose shape the longer it sits off a car, and I know its easy for the flimsy fenders to get a little bent out of shape and the bumper going along with it, maybe that is what happened in your case.

A heat gun and a screw driver worked for me. I had the same problem with the adhesive stuff.

the mouldings on either series will come off with some patience and a screwdriver. get them started and pull them the rest of the way off slowly. the s4's are more likely to break than s5's. ask me how i know

s5s have clips, just prying them away will break the clips because you need to release them from behind.

If you are using these on a S4 then it wont affect you because you wont be using the clips anyhow.

I will be doing the same thing. I actually got free doors with mine that had s5 molding on them but double sided tape sounds way easier then swapping doors. Let me know what tape you use since I will be needing the same thing.

How do you secure the s5 mouldings to the car at the bottom edge of the moulding? There's screw holes at the bottom of them, but there's nowhere on an s4 that you can secure them to.

I just got a pair of T2 side skirts, looks like you gotta make new holes for the bottom. I have a S4 too. I haven't installed them yet.
