search for "twin scroll removal"

Essentially you just cut the flapper out and weld the hole shut. Don't know why you'd do this though, you're going to kill the response of that non-divided turbo.

False. I did the delete and it didn't hurt my spool times at all. It is definitely a good idea to delete all that nonsense twin scroll bullshit and make it a free flowing manifold. Especially if you are planning to do what I did and go with a stage 2 BNR turbo. Awesome bang for your buck!

Combining the deletion of the twin scroll flapper w/other modifications such as a larger compressor wheel or engine porting might help to mitigate the negative affect on spool.

However all Else being equal, a turbo w/working twin scroll will spool faster than one w/o it, that's why its there. Now if your twin scroll wasn't working before you removed it, it might not have felt like a noticeable difference, but now youre comparing apples to oranges.

Which was probably the case. The solenoid and check valve may not have been hooked up right.

Mazda's own data on the matter:

It's only active below 2700rpm, so you can drive it like a "regular" engine that would have some torque. So if you always keep it tach'd up (like it has a big turbo on it) then you wouldn't notice much.
