S4/S5 specific forums

I'm sure this has been brought up in the past, but is there any reason why we couldn't separate 2nd gen specific into S4/S5 specific subforums?

Pros and cons? Opinions? I wanna hear what you have to say.

That's a good point. The only S5 engine parts I have are my eshaft, stat gears and front cover/pulleys.

I reckon they'd be more database-style forums with info for S4/S5 specific applications. I have pondered how it would work with smaller groups of parts like ignition etc.

for the most part 99% of the S4 to S5 issues crossover so cutting this section in half would just create more threads to respond to.

the FB has 3 specific model revisions and it also is just 1 specific sub-forum. if it happened here then it could open a door for them to further complicate the forum. the FD also has 2 different revisions with the '99 spec models. then there is the european models... you see where i'm going.

Fair enough. I just wondered. In my last post I mentioned my lack of S5 parts in my S5; my engine is S4 irons and FD rotors/housings so I totally understand. It was more of a curiosity than anything else. It wouldn't do me much good to have them split to be honest...

it would definitely be easier for buyers if the for sale sections were split up but more of a pain for the sellers to make different listings and check multiple threads.

Agreed. More specific threads means easily more than one place to post a for sale ad or a problem and multiple threads to check. Cool. Calmed my curiosity.
