We need more pics of those Infini seats in the car bud. Those are awesome!

s5 tails on an s4 is worse than converting the bumpers to s5.

mmmmmm....no. i like my s4 with just s5 tails. there's a reason why they call me hybrid, im half mexican and half chinese, and i use my hybrid nickname towards my car. I take the best of both fc's and make it into one, hense the s4 with s5 tails and vents. i could care less about the seats but im tired of people braking my vents everytime i replace them.

So the best part of the s5 isn't the engine? And the best part about s4's isn't the weight? I guess I should check my Fast and the Furious handbook again.

Hybrids like from Underworld, the best of both worlds. That guy was ulgy BTW. Now that I think about it I don't know one Hybrid that is not ulgy

well there is a reason why i own a base s4..it was for the light weight and i like my s4 engine over the s5. i could care less if the s5 engine makes more power cause most na s5's i come across dont pull like a s4. maybe its the weight difference and i've heard the s5 has slightly longer gears in first and second compared to s4. not a 100% on that last part though...

The only gear taller comparing a S5 vs S4 is 5th gear.

I would really like to see any official reference that the S5 is more rigid than a S4. Until I do, that will remain an urban legend in my book.

Here is one thing for sure. The S4's were 100% Mazda folks created. The S5's were hybrid Mazda/Ford creations which in many respects didn't prove out to be a totally good thing.

Case in point, I've own two S5's since 2001 and my S4 since 1994. In my hands on experience, the electronics in my S4 has proven to be much more durable. There are easy to fix issues common to both series such as the cold solder joints in the clock. But window switch's in the S5's not so durable among other things such as ever evasive electronic bugs. Example of the latter would be my airbag light flashing (I cannot find that stupid bug) for the first 30 minutes or so before finally going out.

From my view, the primary functional advantage of an S5 over a S4 is:

The S5's common interior being Black vs S4 "show every spec of dirt" Grey

AND the center consol "surrounds" being rubber in the S5. After almost 20 years, the plastic in the S4's break if you just look at them wrong. The good news is that those two S5 advantages are very swap-able into a S4 and look like they always belonged there.

AND you can legally smoke S5 taillights where you can't smoke S4's and stay legal.

AND S5's factory fog lights vs factory after thought Bosch fog add on kit

as i was saying i prefer my s4 over an s5 and i was using the more rigidity and more electronics as a weight disadvantage, and i agree with you on the rigidity myth since its only said by people. oh and thanks for correcting me on the gear ratios. I love my s4..bought it for 600 and it has 189,000~190,000 miles on it and still running strong. i just wish everything on my idiot cluster worked (including clock) but i just need to be un-lazy and just fix that **** lol

I don't really mess with N/A anymore I used to know almost everything different about them. S4 & S5 are suppose to feel totally different. From what I remember the S5 kicks in a little sooner and went up another 1000 rpm and all that other blah blah that you know.

Mine had S5 tails on it when I bought it from it's previous owner, haha.

Even if mine doesn't run yet, I already love the thing. Even if it is taking up my jackstands, haha.

I can't wait to get it on the road though.

the only reason i upgraded my front end to a 90 gxl front end , was because my 1/4 panels were dented and a lil bit rusty , my old bumper was not straight at the bottom and the lip was falling off , also i would like to add the front bumper of the s4 is not that great looking sort of looks like a olds man car, but then you add the s5 bumper and it brings it into a new generation ( oh and i like the s5 fogs )
