mmmmmm....no. i like my s4 with just s5 tails. there's a reason why they call me hybrid, im half mexican and half chinese, and i use my hybrid nickname towards my car. I take the best of both fc's and make it into one, hense the s4 with s5 tails and vents. i could care less about the seats but im tired of people braking my vents everytime i replace them.

S4's are lighter than S5's. How is that?
well s5 has more rigidity like mentioned all ready and has a lot more electronics on it like the seat belts motors so there is a difference.

The only gear taller comparing a S5 vs S4 is 5th gear.

I would really like to see any official reference that the S5 is more rigid than a S4. Until I do, that will remain an urban legend in my book.
Here is one thing for sure. The S4's were 100% Mazda folks created. The S5's were hybrid Mazda/Ford creations which in many respects didn't prove out to be a totally good thing.
Case in point, I've own two S5's since 2001 and my S4 since 1994. In my hands on experience, the electronics in my S4 has proven to be much more durable. There are easy to fix issues common to both series such as the cold solder joints in the clock. But window switch's in the S5's not so durable among other things such as ever evasive electronic bugs. Example of the latter would be my airbag light flashing (I cannot find that stupid bug) for the first 30 minutes or so before finally going out.
From my view, the primary functional advantage of an S5 over a S4 is:
The S5's common interior being Black vs S4 "show every spec of dirt" Grey
AND the center consol "surrounds" being rubber in the S5. After almost 20 years, the plastic in the S4's break if you just look at them wrong. The good news is that those two S5 advantages are very swap-able into a S4 and look like they always belonged there.
AND you can legally smoke S5 taillights where you can't smoke S4's and stay legal.
AND S5's factory fog lights vs factory after thought Bosch fog add on kit

I don't really mess with N/A anymore I used to know almost everything different about them. S4 & S5 are suppose to feel totally different. From what I remember the S5 kicks in a little sooner and went up another 1000 rpm and all that other blah blah that you know.
Even if mine doesn't run yet, I already love the thing. Even if it is taking up my jackstands, haha.
I can't wait to get it on the road though.

And by the way, I joined. Waiting for approval though.
the only reason i upgraded my front end to a 90 gxl front end , was because my 1/4 panels were dented and a lil bit rusty , my old bumper was not straight at the bottom and the lip was falling off , also i would like to add the front bumper of the s4 is not that great looking sort of looks like a olds man car, but then you add the s5 bumper and it brings it into a new generation
( oh and i like the s5 fogs )
