Sacrificing aesthetics for ridiculousity is the latest trend. Even if it doesn't look good, being the one who pushed it farthest is all that matters (who can get the most 'poke', tire stretch, camber, etc). Function and good taste is for ****.

16" Stock body
17" After market body
45 sidewalls are the best for traction. Bigger rims equals more moving mass, in which means... More hp needed.

I'll admit I kind of like Earl's car, the fitment is not my favorite, but it is pretty unique and attention grabbing.

I still just don't get how wheels that don't fit became cool. I know someone's going to jump on me about "******' GANGSTER FITMENT, BRO", but wheels that require sacrifices in functional suspension geometry to fit underneath the fenders (sometimes not even under the fenders) don't fit. It's just a fact, period. Most cars that have 'gangster fitment' would look 100x better if they didn't have to have stupid amounts of camber and tire stretch. Just order the wheels with a little bit more offset, no one will kill you for it, and your car will look much better. It almost seems like offset numbers have become the new peak dyno numbers. In 1999, a guy with a single turbo Supra would brag about his 1100 rwhp dyno sheet, now the same guy brags about his super low/negative offset numbers. It's funny.

Oh well.

"Taste" is subjective and we should all remember this.

Some 17s look good on stock bodies though too.

Not everyone is out to make their car an attention *****.

I know that I've never been the one to make my car hideous just because I had the money to do so, or because it's what everyone thinks is good taste.

To me, and many others, a stock body and a set of properly offset wheels make a car. Not the biggest wheels, flashiest paint, widest fenders, etc.

So with that said, there is no need for stupid comments and peoples taste, because taste is 100% opinion.

I wanna be gangster lol

Who cares its all subjective.

here comes my view on the whole thing........

I can like all of that trend/fitment/etc stuff for what it is(besides rat rod look and the 'my ***** broke look'). But I have too much respect for the RX-7's to do that to one, I think these cars should stay clean, well maintained, and most of all classy to compliment the uniqueness and the pedigree of these cars. The crazy fitment, and all the other trends can be cool on other cars(miata/240sx/ etc) but I just think of it as a waste of our cars.

disclaimer: I don't own your car, or hardly give two ***** about what you like to do to your car, so do what you want with your car.

There are two things that make you a homosexual.

1. Being physically attracted to the same sex.

2. Making your car look baller/ingenuitive/stylish/original gangster with hella flush fitments and etc..

However it's your life, your car, so do what you want I really don't care.
