RX7club Ride of the Month?

Yes, the wrong section I know, but a similar thread is posted in the Comments and Suggestions section(and we know how many views that gets...) https://www.rx7club.com/comments-suggestions-archive-222/ride-month-870061/ So I figured I would bring it up to us in the 2nd gen section.

This could be something like having a different pic of a member's car every month at the top of the page, which could be voted in by other members.

From what I understand this has been brought up in the past, but hey, maybe we could finally get it going.
So what do you all think? Yes, no?

I think that the site should have a "ROM" thread. There is a few ways it could be done. Each generation, a mix, or each month could have a different catagory like NA / Turbo / 20B / Vert / Non piston to rotary / widebody just to give some ideas.

+1 good idea, i believe this fourm is growing so big things need to get cleaned up, there needs to be more sections, like a project section/build section. I also think there should be a chat i know thats been discussed before also.

Doesn't adding "more sections" contradict your statement of "growing so big" ?

LOL. I meant widebody category as in all 3 gens. Beside there's alot better looking cars on here than mine, but really this could be done almost every site I belong to has a Ride of the Month or Ride of the Season.

Throw it up there, you can't just stand on the sidelines and say it needs to be more organized.

Bring your ideas to the table (preferably in the Comments and Suggestions section).

I can tell you that while I personally prefer making some extra sections, we have found that it typically doesn't meet with widespread appeal.

Well here's the first part right take a poll to see if the members would like to see it happen, I have made a few suggestions how it could be set up either by each generation having thier own (too much IMO) or use a different theme each month. (listed a few earlier in the thread). Give 15 days or so to enter your car & the rest of the month for members to vote. The winner be presented on the 1st of the following month. I know this is an added labor on the Moderators, but I think it would do good in the end.

FWIW - We learned a hard lesson last year before Sevenstock that polls and voting can be manipulated to some very sour effects.

Those of you who have experience with that might want to weigh in as well.

Yeah polls do somtimes get botched, which is sad. I do understand. I didn't think your comment was for me, I just decided to contribute a little. No sense in wanting to add something if I'm not willing to help with at least suggestions.

... that's just about as good of a reason we should have to NOT do it. LOL
