You could probably source your own replacement parts and have the body shop just paint them and straighten out the car.I may have the passenger side bumper to fender brace/connector in the basement somewhere. And maybe just maybe have a headlight motor.

Within the 1st three months of owning my fc, i was in the left of two turning lanes. Well I had my green arrow and took my left, staying in the left of 4 lanes... plus an extra lane for people taking a right. Well this chick comes flying across all five lanes, taking a right, and hits me right where you got hit, spinning me around. I tried to fight it as much as possible, but the insurance totalled it! The BB on it was only $1200, with the deductible I only was able to replace the fender and repaint the pearl white (which was the expensive part) I had to fix the rest myself. I had to pay $600 out of pocket to get it back to perfect condition.

Hers. They were such ********, they wouldn't let me do anything, they sourced the fender, which I know I could've gotten for cheaper. The only thing they let me do was have the guy who painted it, repaint it, cause its custom. Other than that I got F-ed in the A! Hope I never have to deal with someone elses insurance agent again! ****** *****!

edit: That and took almost 2 months before they even started to fix it, then about 2 weeks later I got the car back.... To replace the fender.

Well I'm not ever sellin... ever, so all I care is that I can keep it in great condition, til the day I'm too old and senile to drive, then I'll give it to my grandkid! After its converted to electric/hydrogen/whatever the future drives that is.

After the repairs

aligns perfectly! nothin bent, good as new....

Although i hate how pics make the pearl look like it doesn't match. Its cause different light makes different colors... sexy in person

Ur tellin me, I was just cruisin, when some idiot comes flyin across five lanes to hit me. Saw it in my peripherals about a sec before it happened. So there I was, infuriated!!! Cussing and screaming, preparing what I was gonna yell to the driver "Do you know what you just hit" etc. So I get out of the car, and sure enough this 5'3" 100lb, blonde in a miniskirt gets out of the jeep. Thats kinda the point where all my anger just kinda floated away, and started thinkin more along the lines that, hey maybe this can work out to my advantage. So here she is, bein all hot, flirtin with me, knowing she's just doin it to get me to be nice about it. And for some reason it was working. So I was real nice back to her (come to find out a week later, she's got a bf) Its just the second I started dealin with the insurance company where that lady wouldn't give an inch. I had to yell at her, sayin I can't take this anywhere to get painted. It needs to match, its a custom pearl!" I was pissed and she knew it!

In all cases I've seen you usually go out and get some quotes and they write you a check. And thats it. You could go **** it on hookers for all they care. But for some reason the only accident I've been in they tell me I have to go to their shop that they choose.

You can go look at my thread for my accident. Hit a guy going 40 when he failed to yeild a left turn and neither of us saw each other. My front end and stuff didnt come out to bad compared to his suv lol. I've seen alot worse accidents at slower speeds posted on here. Anyways long story short they totaled my vert and wanted to give 3800. After showing them comps for other verts in similar condition and what not they ended up settling for 6500 and I bought the car back from the for 800. Took it to the body shop for an estimate and they estimated 1500 needed a new bumper cover, hood had to get fixed, needed another headlight assembly and fender had to get straightened out.
Got a s4 black bumper for 80 bucks from apex auto, 10 bucks for a headlight assembly from a friend, and about 40 bucks for some other misc bumper parts that needed to be replaced. So probably about 150 to source the parts i needed. When all was said and done It costed me a total of 2000 from the bodyshop. Including New paint on the bumper cover, hood and both fenders so basicaly the front of the car was repainted. Also had to go up on the frame puller, and the PDR people came and popped all the dents out my hood. Not bad at all for the best bodyshop around here. With the extra money I got some nice stuff like new rims and max performance summer times and whatnot. Tune up items, hood struts(most fun upgrade ever :P) New camber plates, rear camber bar, koyo radiator, bonez intake. Good stuff, car came out better than before the wreck lol.

And if they total it you could look into geting a shell in better condition than your current car if its cheaper than fixing it and swapping everything over.

They lied to you. In Colorado you have the right to take your vehicle to what ever shop YOU choose. You can also choose to just take the money and do repairs yourself if you want. It is not the insurance companies decision.

To the OP and any one else who has to deal with insurance companies:

Talk to you state insurance Commissioner. They will give you all the information you need to be deal with insurance companies. The commissioners mission is to regulate insurance industry and to assist consumers with insurance issues. They are extremely helpful and easy to work with.

UPDATE!!!

Ok just got done finished talking to him. He offers some where around 2700 but then has to take out 100 or so cause I want to keep the car. I dont really agree with his price. What do you guys think I should do? And how should I show him that it worth more?

I really want to fight for more cause pulling the frame is costly. Replacing fender, bumper, head light, paint and what not.
