Question restoring sun faded paint?

already searched and didn't get a good answer.

my clear coat/paint is faded on the doors mainly, quarter panels faded in some places, fenders are good, hood is faded in the shape of mexico bumbers are good

what is the best result i can get with restoring the paint. will it match up to the fenders?

what are my options. Here is what i thought of using not all thought just random things.
clay
rubbing compound
buffing
wax
wetsand

The clear looks pretty far gone to me. You can do a heavy cut and polish and restore quite a bit of shine but it will go back to being dull fairly quickly. I deal with this type of oxidation all the time at my shop and with red its highly likely that your car needs a new paint job.

Not too shabby, did they get the door jambs, too?
Have you tried polishing and waxing it?

Maaco's quality of work all rolls with what package you wan't. Most people knock there work because of car they have seen with the 250 special complete paint job which is not even a single stage paint its just some **** enamel that won't last but what do you expect for 250. To do a single stage paint job will cost you around 400-500 which still isn't the best but for the price its not bad and will give you a good 5yrs of a decent looking finish. Now for doing a paint job right with an actual factory quality 2-stage (base coat/ clear coat) will cost you upwards of 750-1000 and thats without any prep work. Being in the car business I've seen quite a few of there 2-stage paint jobs and I was honestly impressed but like I said these were around 1k or more jobs not the shitty 250 enamel special. Moral of this post is even from Maaco you get what you pay for. And for the price compared to a full fledge body shop they do decent work. If you go with the crap enamel or single stage expect very low gloss and paint that won't last but then again what do you expect for under 400 dollars.

yea, it looks 5x better when waxed and buffed. they left the door jams alone. so theres still the tan but it actually looks good with the black lol

i agree it looked shitty as hell when i got it back but a little wetsanding here and there to clear up the high spots made it look a hell of a lot better. its a $300 job btw

though ive had it done about 8months ago and some paint is starting to peel off the fron bumper. im thinking about repainting it matte white and no not primer white.

That would be interesting. When I had my old rx7, I was sanding it down, and fell in love with the sanded, flat white. so it stayed like that for a while. haha

Try to reverse the colors. I think the black bottome with the white wheels would stand out.

And tint the windows as much as you can.

To the op, I would suggest trying to polish that out with a heavy cut polish. And see how that works out.
