RE-Amemiya FC wing questions... (Risky Devil, Napsterfreak, etc)

Hey everyone,

I just received an authentic RE-Amemiya wing for my TurboII for free from my friends for helping unload a container for like 5 hours. It is in perfect shape and I am wondering how to mount it. I've always wanted this exact wing for my TurboII and now I think it looks worthy enough for it!

I've never removed a factory TurboII wing and don't know if I will have to drill new holes after having the body work done to weld in and paint the previous stock wing holes or not? I am expecting to at least weld in some holes, and paint a lot.

So I was wanting to hear from members who have installed it. Mine seems to have the threads in one hole out of 4 total. The others are just missing everything. Napsterfreak or any of the Risky Devil crew... if you have any pointers I'd like to hear it.

This is the wing I'm referring to:

You should have threaded inserts in the wing. I drilled holes in my car and bolted it in with some washers behind the bolt.

Yeah it doesn't have 3 of the 4 threads mounted inside the wing. Hmm. I guess a local body shop should have something that would work.

I had 3 out of 4 threads so i just used 3 bolts and some jb weld stick.. but i did the same thing as illia.

Also my fc never had a wing so that made it easy i guess.

When drilling your own holes take your time. this wing has to be centered well or the back hatch may rub it when you open or close it.

Could you maybe epoxy in some threaded tube into the wing. Something like this.

You'll be able to use two factory holes on the FC. They're mate up with the two rear holes on the wing. The other two, you will have to drill new holes.

Here it is on my old FC.

Put Riv-Nuts where the old threaded pieces used to go. They install like a rivet, and are threaded for a bolt or stud. Call Fastenal, they have them.

My wing had the threaded parts in the fiberglass already.

After I finished the 13BRE, VMIC, & Motec install, I drove and raced the car for a few months then replaced it with a 94 Chaste White FD. Ended up parting out the car.
