Honestly, I believe that the FC is one of the most beautiful cars ever made. I would honestly pick an FC over an FD. (not in stock form of course, it's funny how Aero can make a car ONE MILLION TIMES more attractive.)

so twice of 1200 is 2400, i said your wheels are not worth that much as used prices are selling at 500 to 600. so then i said you paid three times as much (or more if it easier to understand) then there actually worth.

so we take the 600 as the cost now we take 3x600=1800 the total is 2400 that is the cost that you first stated.

then you come in and say you payed 1000 with tires so how does 1000 equal to 2400?

not trying to make you feel stupid i'm just stating your wheels are not worth 2400.

I cant agree more. even though i've bashed the 302 to no end, i didnt think swaps were nessisarily bad.

having modist goals can be the best because they ARE atainable, same goes for my measly 300hp i whish out of 13bt. its not breaking any records, but its practical and fun!

Bottom Line.

I originally mentioned the wheels in a post trying to make a point about how $1200 isn't that much to spend when you're building a nice car.

I SHOULD have wrote. "When the wheels were BRAND NEW they cost about $1800 plus $600 in tires."

The WHOLE POINT was about $1200 not being that much. (though, I don't even know what kind of aluminum common - VERY common off the shelf aftermarket heads for a 302 cost $1200-$1400 as stated by Gear Grinder)

Then you came along saying how I got jipped for $1800 and how I probably don't even have the common sense to run a proper lug nut setup. Ooooooo, a whopping $40. I have no idea why you would say that first of all. Second of all, out of all the posts I made in this thread, the ONE thing you have to contribute is how I got gipped, how my wheels are actually $600 all day long and how I probably am too cheap to buy tuner lugs that would work with my wheels.

then you offered to go pick up a set for $600 for me. Why? do you actually want to help me? Wuld you actually go do that for me and help me out and pass a good deal on? Were you going to ship them to me at your own cost as well? Or maybe deliver them to me?? Handling is very good. It is a vert so they are noticeably heavier than the coupes.

One thing that I HAVE noticed is there is more chassis flew over bumps and there is more bumpsteer.

That could be due to the lack of a sway bar in the front or the lack of some roll centre adjusters after significant lowering.

You can run an oil pan from a lincoln or a crown vic to get more clearance and mount a little lower.

firstly, awsome pics, man. jealous, as i coudnt take a good photo if my life depended on it. also, while i wouldn't chuck a v8 in a mazda, i must say that under 4000rpm, my car feels much like my old 1200cc corolla!!! can see where you're coming from in wanting a bit of torque!! don't take it all to heart man, at the end of it all, it's just a forum, and you build cars for yourself, not the masses!!! beautiful car, by the way.

Holy ****. I seriously hate 90 percent of the people on this forum.

The only reason i keep my account open is so i can continue to **** that 90 percent off doing things that "shouldn't" be done to an rx7.


Did someone seriously dog this guy for having volks? I'm not going back to see who said that but **** you. Seriously. Atleast this guy has some ******* class which i can't say for the other 90 percent of you.

nobody dogged him for having volks he was saying they were worth 2400 i said no they are worth around 500 or 600 and he got pissed then wrote a whole big speech that i just kinda skimmed through only thing i got was he bought some lug nuts for 40 but if he would have the center caps he would notice that the lug nuts he purchased does not fit.

my buddy rabbit is crazy about rb20's, I fully blv they are best bang for the buck motor wise right now. Also, have you hear robs gtst? Pur made him a custom open exhuast, sounds like an f1 car.

I orginally said after someone couldn't believe that I would soend 1200 dollars on a car, that my coils were worth that and that the wheels were worth twice that. I should have phrased it, "when the wheels were brand new, with tires they were worth twice that." Who's this on SON>? Yes, RB20 is my fave motor to play with. Thats the next powerplant. Then I'll have TWO RB20 FC's. One vert and one hard top. Yeah, radek and Johm will be doing some work on this car for me. Adam will be doing the cage too.

thanks for the compliments everyone! I've put a lot of sweat into this car and will continue to build it up! It will be a very nice, fun package all round car by the end of the summer.

Going to focus very strong on updating the chassis. I sometimes forget that this car is 22 years old. along with that comes 22 year old bushings, mounts and ugh....rust.

Will keep people updated and some will like it, some will hate...more will hate! Thats ok. I like the car and that's what matters and some people will get the pleasure of ripping on it too!

Seriously, if I ever run into any of you or if you guys ever come to Toronto, look me up and feel free to rip on a V8 7!

Just an update:

Fixed the belt, rerouted it and found the pulleys to be slightly out of alignement causing more stress on the belt. rearranged, fired it up and all of a sudden lost all fuel pressure. FML.

Traced it back to the fuel pump, put direct power onto the fuel pump and got nothing, ordered a Walbro 255 and will be putting in tomorrow.

Meanwhile, went to go change the diff into the car and broke some bolts. Lovely. Looked at diff mount bushings and they were garbage. So I ordered a full set of Energy Poly Bushings. Should tighten the car up a lot....22 year old rubber is scary to think of.

One belt......turns into all this.....bah. The life of a car nut.

PS: Also snagged a killer deal on some G35 wheels for today to use as more drift spares and found a GREAT deal on a PAIR of Work Equips made by Impul R. (knockoffs are okay when made by Impul, Bee R* etc.... I think. )

Will post more pics with the new shoes and when it breaks down on the test run because I suck at working on cars.


PS: Oh, and turboIIrotary.....I still can't believe how much a ******* goof you sound like. You behave like a petulant brat. (I realize that I am doing the same thing...but that's okay, cuz I AM a petulant brat!!!!)

Are you still willing to pick the $600 set up for me as I really want another pair for drift spares!!!

Well man the car looks good even if it has a 302 Ford in it. LOL No really if it works for you then that's all that matters right. On the wheels nice find, a $1000 for a set with tires is not bad IMO.

Kick *** car fella and I really do dig those pictures up front. FWIW I paid $1500 for a set of 17x9 volks w/ no tires and thought I got a deal (group buy price was $2400).

+1 for selling wheels on Zilvia.net.
