Looks like it might need some tinted windows and black mirrors. Just like the 86 in the first post. Aren't panda bears spotted?

To the OP, good luck with this new look. I also agree with your opinions as the S4 trim seems to look better on our cars. And yes, the S5 front bumper's bottom half looks better than an S4. Cool little conversion. I can't wait to see your car cleaned up and finished.

probably could have modded the s5 front bumper by filling in the molding line, then masking off\make a guide and use a dremel to replicate the s4 moldings.

that half cut bumper is crazie idea tho never seen anyone do it.. Ive seen people do that to fenders tho *bolt a fender on top of a fender lol

well did some work on the car and started painting the thing. just testing some things out. finally bught a new paint gun so should get the paint and spray/prep the rest of the car next weekend. also started the motor tear down and pulled the turbo. got the wheels to a satisfactory state and mounted.

here are the wheels freshly stripped and painted.

and on the car

here are some other random pics from this weekend with a refresh on the front lip

me and some friends pulling the turbo

and a comparison of the turbo to a stock STI VF39 turbo

and here is the wife. the car will be hers when the subaru is done being built

and one last one with the engine bay open before cleaning up for the day

MORE TO COME NEXT WEEKEND!!!

I'm very impressed with the build. Looks really great. That half bumper idea works and those wheels really set it off. Can't for it to be finished.

Wow, dude... I must say, I approve! The bastardized bumper looks pretty sweet to me. I assume you're going to do a proper paint job when everything's said and done? And the wheels, I'd like 'em better black with a polished lip, but those are nice!

p.s. I think your car will need a spoiler when it's done; preferably a stock turbo spoiler.

haha thanks for the compliment on my wife.

yes there will be a more proper paint on the car when its done. i will be sanding filling and spraying this week and next weekend along with a nice clear coat and wet sand and buffing when its all said and done.

the wheels may be replaced with some gram light 57 pros in white. but thats a big maybe at this point sine the guy is local and pending them fitting and me liking them. they are 17" wheels and i personally like a smaller wheel like 16". hence the 16" on my subaru and the 16" watanabe's you see there. i actually had 17" wheels on the subaru and sold and opted for 16"
here is the subaru which will be stripped apart and have a fresh motor.
17" advan rcII

and 16" BBS

the lense is a fish eye in most the shots with a nice 1.8 Fstop and the rest are a basic kit lense 18 - 55.

it is a 2000 impreza 2.5 rs. stock color is sedona ridge pearl. it currently has the 2.5 liter motor but is going to be swapped with an 03 wrx motor but will be modified and tuned for about 320hp, the car weighs in at around 2700lbs and im keeping the stock transmission due to the gearing being 4.11.

Probably just oem, but cut the trim off of them so they go with your car.

It's Sedona Red Pearl... probably the best Subaru color... My DD is a SRP WRX.

Welcome to the SRP brotherhood, looks like a sick project and I'm totally diggin' the gold wheels. The seven is going to look great too when finished off. Keep us updated on both!

Not trying to hijack your thread but here's mine:
