I'd say resto-mod for sure. The way I see it with 10AEs, under the hood it's no different than any other TII, so go as wild (or mild) as you want. I wouldn't mess with the exterior much though. lower/lip/wheels is as far as I would go exterior-wise.
I've always had a 'fantasy project' involving a 10AE; restore the exterior and interior to pristine factory spec, have the factory wheels widened so they fill out the wheel wells better (and put more rubber to the ground), and drop a n/a 20B in it .

I totally agree with you, I plan on having my stock AE wheels widened, ect but have atleast 450whp.
Any updates on this yet?

Progress has been slow... But I have collected 99% of the parts for the build.. I find myself slow moving during the winter months.. Been keeping myself busy with building an FCD cleaning parts, and getting the new engine ready to install... Got some new wheels...

Thought I would update the masses on my progress..
Here is the list of the parts I have gathered over the past few months..
-New intake gasket set/o rings
-New Front cover gasket
-Injector Rebuild Kit (denso)
-2751 engineering Blockoff kit
-Oil filter adapter (with fittings for additional gauges)
-Battery tray
-Battery box and lid
-Used 10th AE front bumper to replace the cracked one
-Turbo to Manifold Gasket
Basically I have gathered everything except new tires, and the fluids. I am going to try to re-wrap the harness this weekend.

Did some work on the car today... Believe it or not...
Pictures will tell the majority of the story but here is a brief overview:
Flywheel, clutch, trans mounted, Turbo, lower intake manifold mounted, front cover/pulley installed, blockoff kit installed.
I then massaged the engine in, bolted it down, and passed out from heat stroke...
3 hours down, probably another 4 hours to go with wiring, injector rebuild, and detailing, etc..

Not sure if anyone is still following this thread but........ Finally got back to the build, I actually really anticipate starting it tomorrow... I am pretty sure I have everything all hooked up, just need to put the fluids in... Oh and buy a battery. I am pretty sick and tired of working on this car.. Kinda wish I hadn't bought it, I have owned it for a year and a half and just haven't put the time in it needed.. Well at least I will be able to move it around under it's own power soon.

Installed an FD fuel pump. SHe runs now.. Have some bugs to work out... but it started right up and is idling at about 1100rpm. It's very rich and needs to be dialed in as far as the timing etc..
Below you will find a very short video of it running

Not sure if anyone cares, but I finished the build and sold it.. Unfortunately the new owner ripped the car apart after my 14months of work (perfectly running car btw) and is doing a V8 swap
oh well.. can't control everything..

Here are the pictures of the "finished" build... I didnt get to paint or very minor details, but it was super clean and ran like a dream..
